mastana Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 started enjoying Ravi Shastri's commentary. :hysterical: It feels as if i am listening to Lata Mangeshkar's songs while watching Pujara and Virat tearing apart African bowlers. :musicman:
King Tendulkar Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I know its starnge, seems great commenatry now:haha:
carnish Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I'm just pleased that atleast Rahul is there to compensate for the torture that it is to hear Ravi and his counterpart Haysman.
Cricketics Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I just wait for Dravid to come every time. He is so easy to the ears. It's like you are wanting for him to stay and keep speaking. He is that good. Simple commentator who analyzes the game well. It's fun to hear him and Robin Jackman together. I never really hated Ravi Shastri. He might sound repetitive but he is still better than most Indian commentators. And unlike Harsha Bhogle, to me he is actually the voice of Indian Cricket for last 15 years. I have grown up hearing him his commentary in pretty much all India away tours and and now even at home, so have gotten used to it and have actually liked it.

You are right about Dravids commentary..Good analysis as well
vvvslaxman Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Shastri was very measured.. He didn't go overboard with his chest thumping. Dravid was also not going overboard.
Laaloo Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I enjoy Dravid as well. He is actually a better commentator than he was a cricketer.

fineleg Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I enjoy Dravid as well. He is actually a better commentator than he was a cricketer. Ok! Left handed compliment.
Yoda-esque Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 a raging boner. Glad to know that your humor is intact
Austin 3:!6 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Shastri was very measured.. He didn't go overboard with his chest thumping. Dravid was also not going overboard. Because he is commentating for non Indian channel (Supersports). I have noticed Shastri always go overboard while commentating for ESPN/Star but prefer to be sober with foreign broadcasters. However he is way better than South African commentators who are the worst I have seen.

Keep this in mind bar OZ commies who give out generous complement to opposition every other commie can be obnoxious from time to time. Check New zealand commies they even managed to tick Ian Bishop off with some snide remarks. Doullie is good. But Mark Richardson a douchebag.
coffee_rules Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I liked the part when RJS rubbed in to the Sa comms by saying that if the names were all erased from the scorecard, it would seem like teams were reversed, SA - 280 India - 244 SA - 284/2 I was still cringing though.
maniac Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Shastri is as annoying as your average sl c ommentrator when india is winning. ..only difference is he uses monotonous cliches rather than a monotonous nasally voice
Scarves Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I know its starnge' date=' seems great commenatry now:haha:[/quote'] Because it is on Supersport than the Indian telecast, so he tones it down because he knows he is not the main person like he is in the Indian telecast. Basically part of the team rather than leading them. He's done a good job so far, Rahul is solid and I hope he comes to Channel 9 for the Indian series.
