Was surprised not to see a separate thread on this rare event in our Test history. Only the 2nd Indian pacer to do so. What a fantastic achievement. :hatsoff: Worked hard on his comeback, did everything he could, cameback to the side and got to the milestone. Would have been great to see his effort result in a Test win, nonetheless a tireless effort from him (along with other bowlers). Thank you Zak. Carry on taking more wickets and having more success in life. :hail:

From Cricinfo-

The wicket of Jacques Kallis was Zaheer Khan's 300th in Tests. He's only the second India fast bowler after Kapil Dev to take 300 or more wickets. Only two other India bowlers, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, have taken 300-plus wickets in Tests. Among left-arm fast bowlers only Wasim Akram and Chaminda Vaas have reached this mark before Zaheer Khan in Tests. Zaheer Khan, contrary to the norm among Asian bowlers, has done better playing outside the subcontinent. In 35 matches outside the subcontinent, Zaheer has taken 136 wickets at 29.72, while his remaining 164 wickets have come playing in the subcontinent at 32.31.
Great Achievement...:hatsoff:

I think Zaheer's career graph would make for a fabulous design for a roller coaster ride. Started off as the next great hope with his fast swinging yorkers. Then, inconsistent performances got him chopped from the team when Irfan Pathan became the leader of the attack. Came back strongly and led many times overseas. Domestic performances were ordinary though. Got unfit and seemed listless while bowling, ultimately losing place in the team. Came back and got to 300 Test wickets. Not sure how he's going to perform now, but I'm not too optimistic about him.

Lol what?He was the main reason we did well at home in tests. From 2007 -2011 our fast bowlers took as much wickets as compared to spinners at home,It was one of the main reasons we became no 1.
