Turn is not everything. Kumble never turned the ball. As a spinner' date=' you need deception to beat the batsman, in the air or with speed variation.[/quote'] Two different bowlers man. Ashwin relies on turn. Kumble doesn't. Hence he continued to fail in this test. Bhajji or Jadeja are different in that aspect.

Ashwin relies on variation rather than turn. He was never a big turner of the ball. His problem is he does not effective use of speed variation.

Lol' date=' if SA attack will be neutralized by our bowling, then how is it 'mediocre'?[/quote'] Green top will allow our pacers to trouble their batsmen which they otherwise will find difficult. Their pacers don't need that much help from the surface to trouble our batsmen. So going for green top may backfire, particularly when our batsmen have got used to conditions more and have shown they can bat here in first test match.

There were countless edges not carrying/running past slip cordon or inside edges missing the stumps. And if Zaheer/Shami/Ishant can match Steyn and co, I don't know how you can call them 'mediocre'.

They are the #1 side and will hit us hard, very hard. The track should be quicker than Jo'burg with more grass over it and I wonder how the forecast would be in Durban.

Our seamers will be more effective and only 1 or 2 batsmen needs to play a big innings to put the team in a good position. Its a whole lot tougher to get these SA batsmen out on a flat deck because Ashwin is not contributing with wickets.

When our bowlers could take only 3 wickets in whole day ( not counting Faf run out and Kallis dismissal), I don't think you can say that. But yes, we did that on 2nd day. No Doubt.

Big words that. Too early tos ay. We haven't even won a game on tour, even though it has been a short one. It will be a challenge for our bowling to bowl them out and take 20 wickets again. But it's going to be new test, and I am sure we can do this. We just got to bat well again, to make sure we don't let South Africa take command of this. We generally bowl better when our batsmen have scored some good runs. If don't put much on board, our bowlers might look fragile too defending low totals. Hopefully batting will hit.
That's true! Because for all the talk about our bowling doing good in the match, remember, SA were the only team that could take 20 wickets
