Overall yes, he is the best but mostly because of his home record, he still very poor batsman in bowling friendly conditions. That with his captaincy makes people question his place.

Saha and DK .. no way. Saha is a 20 to 30 run guy occasionally. DK is way too inconsistent. Also DK has the syndrome of missing easy chances and taking tougher ones. I have seen Saha doing poor keeping as well. Also having pUjara or Kohli as captain now is a recipe for disaster. Only two decent batsmen who won't be able to handle the transition and also their progression.

Zaheer is not averaging 100. Two of his selections in this test were vindicated. Ishant and Shami. So not sure what you are saying here. Only Ashwin disappointed us. He was going to play under any captain anyway.

Ishant was averaging around 65+ from England tour to Australia tour and he was permanent bowler in Dhoni's XI. In Aus tour he averaged close to 100. :hatsoff:

I would take overrated bowler anyday with average of 32 over ishant or bhuvan who cannot get a wicket and average near 40.U got to be mad to even defend ishant,the guy has got so many chances noboyd elese in history would have got.

Who else was there besides Zak whose tour got cut short. Sreesanth sucked. PK bowled okay. He played. Wake up and smell the coffee. India did not have fast bowling talent at that time. The bowlers we had at that time were more like 100s of trundling swing bowlers you would find in England.

Bottomline is this is the first test we are playing after 8 test losses in a row. Umesh played in some of the tests we lost. Why? Removing Dhoni will not give us bowlers averaging 30. What about before Dhoni?

I Never said that.But really ishant has got so many chances and if he is not consistent now he should really be dropped for few years.

We are still having debacles after debacles abroad, this game we almost lost if not some cowardly batting and from Philander and Steyn fielding from Rahane. You need to chose your best XI and then select captain. We can't make a poor player captain then let him chose the XI.

They are all out of the team now. We got enough runs despite Dhoni's customary mediocre performance overseas he is known for and still enjoying special status. But in the end almost lost the match.

Please try to understand the point. A player with good proven record in domestic, who has shown potential needs to be given chances in place of someone who is a constant failure. If that can't be done then just select a squad of 15 and stop playing domestics, A tours altogether.
