vvvslaxman Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Uthappa at all costs lol that is Skindia's mantra.
skindia Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 Rahane gonna perform anywhere like pujara
jf1gp_1 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Im proud of MV, he has surpassed my expectations for sure. His 97 here will hold him in good stead and I hope he scores loads in Eng and Aus. For that matter proud of the batting generally for the same reason- Rahane in particular being another. Pujara and Kohli we hoped/expected things of. absolutely even though Dhawan got out in a silly manner he controlled his aggression played for the team and this is what most of wanted to see put up a fight. If we walk away with a draw it would be job well done by the team.
Temujin Khaghan Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 both dhawan and murli are talented batsmen, who are working very hard. they should persevered with until the england test series finishes. if they fail in nz(2) and england (5) , then we should seek replacement for oz series

ThePhenomenal1 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 vijay played out the new ball. he took on the attack and played sensibly. His main issue has been chasing leg side deliveries. He scored 97! He played beautifully and unfortunately couldn't convert but he is hungry to do well. Rohit sharma has done squat so u should contribute in a threat dedicated to him! To me, Vijay was a key reason we have done well and fought back. Beautiful partnerships with Pujara.
kaptaan Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 vijay played morkel, steyn's hostile spell verywell in this series...things will only get better from here
kaptaan Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 dont just write off dhawan yet...not to forget he is the leading run scorer in CT'13...and made 113(94) against the likes of morkel
saneindian Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 A big reason why we have been competitive in this series. Set the tone with that awesome display on day 1 first session. NZ tour with Southee and Boult will be another huge challenge. Hopefully he can carry the confidence from this tour and score runs in NZ>
GolGappe Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Vijay has definitely exceeded my expectations. Kohli and Pujara have been excellent. Vijay and Rahane good. Dhoni and Dhawan average. What has really hurt India is tail's limp show with the bat, and even ball, and Rohit Sharma's misery. He still hasn't recovered from the working over he got from Steyn in first ODI.
Marut Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Except Tendulkar I don't remember any other Indian batsman who had a success rate of 50% during any SA tour. Now we may add Kohli and Pujara.
SLICKR392 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Never really liked him but not any more. That guy can bat ! Lame OP.
Pagalpanti Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 In SA new ball is the key. In 1st test he got out @ 15th over in 1st innings, 35th over in 2nd innings 2nd test - 69th over in 1st innings, 6th over in 2nd Honestly I count that as just 1 failure. Doesn't mean as an opener his job is just to play out the new ball, but give the guy some credit. Sides have been shot for under 50 scores in last 3 series in SA. His resistance has allowed middle order to come out in much easier conditions.
Soorma_Bhopali Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Thats two of us. Too many fan boys . Where are indian cricket fans ? Add one more ..:hatsoff:
jonas10 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Both openers suck like anything Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
FreakazoiD Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Good opener, solid technique. Should give CSK team-mate Raina tips on facing short-pitched stuff.
