Lord Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 In test cricket to be successful you need to bowl 135+ or have Vernon Philander asif or mcgrath type ability to attack the top of off stump while rarely straying down leg side. None of our bowlers have that ability. In that regard I would say shami is best in our team followed by khan and arron with yadav Ishant and bk behind in the lower tier. Ishant and bk should be out because both are poor in terms of pace and accuracy. Khan is still accurate but not that accurate compared to philander or even shami. Plus his pace has dropped. But he still has enough skill to dominate new Zealand but I hope someone else gets a shot. Arron is actually pretty accurate. Behind only shami and maybe khan in our squad. He should be picked ahead of bk khan and ishant for that reason and for the fact that's he's one of our fastest bowlers. I haven't seen pandey bowl. But he seems to bowl around 130s. So hopefully he has that rare ability to attack the top of off stump for long periods of time otherwise he will struggle. where have you seen him bowl.Ranjis or just IPL? To me he looks like an Umar Gul kind of bowler.bowls short of length with the new ball and full in death/when its reversing.will do great in ODIs imo but not sure in tests. yeah can be good 1st change bowler,but we need a new ball bowler who bowls full n gets swing

Anyway choice between aaron at 85 to 90 mph and 78 mph bowler who gets it full and swings it and know which one I would choose

I just hope Pandey gets a game. Has been very impressive in pattas and dust bowls.
