ThePhenomenal1 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 We played no International T20s in 2013 (CT13 final doesn't count) We play the same old ODI squad with no chance given to fringe players or those who excel in IPL. If you look at other teams, they select their key T20 players from Big bash, IPL, county, domestic etc. No proper criteria for selecting bowlers. Selectors/Dhoni will pick those who did well in another format or favourite players instead of economical bowlers or wicket taking ones suited for t20s. Instead of selecting Mishra who is up there on the IPL wicket taking list and who took 19 wickets in his last series, they pick ashwin who will pause his way to losing. Where's rahul sharma? Nadeem? Or rasool? Try selecting rahul shukla or kaul. You will never see India give these guys a chance. Its always a chawla or an ashwin or an aging bowler. I don't mind picking dhawan and rohit but why not try new/different batsmen? Manoj tiwary, rayudu, uthappa, samson, kedhar jadav.. there are so many options. We could take out rohit and raina (keep them to 1-2 formats), even dhoni because he has yet to score a t20 50. Give chances to batsmen who have done well abroad on A-tours and in tournaments and get them on the world stage. Build a new team india in the t20 format. We have the same captain who has not entered the semis since 2007. That's a poor record! Kohli as captain, build the team around him. INDIA NEEDS A CHANGE B-> Overall: We don't play International T20s anyway so why not change things and get some quality talent in there? Might as well since its in Bangladesh, pitches won't be too difficult. I'm tired of losing in world t20s!
JourneyMan Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Don't know how we will win it, but my suggestion last time was to send a B team so they gain some experience in playing international tournaments. http://indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=283419
vvvslaxman Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 By scoring more runs than the opposition in the final :two_thumbs_up:
kubrickian Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Without proper death bowlers and bowlers who cant hit yorkers consistently, India will struggle to win a single game in Super Six stage, which has been the case after 2007 World T20. We have played 6 IPLs and we still havent found one good death bowler. This is the standard of bowling in India. :hysterical:
cowboysfan Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 of course we can win it,playing in bangladesh is a big plus as our spinners will finally be able to take wickets.

kubrickian Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 It is after IPL we stopped winning matches in T20 Nice excuse. Care to explain why playing more T20 cricket against some of the best players in the world will make us worse in the format ? The fact of the matter is our death bowling sucks and in this format, every over is like bowling in the death and you have to hit the yorkers and slower balls consistently and outguess the batsmen which our bowlers are not good at.
vipin Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 It is after IPL we stopped winning matches in T20 Even in the IPL, the best bowlers are non- Indians.

Because we leave the death bowling to Bravos, Malingas, Johnsons, Narines lol The one we used got cartered around. Dinda, VK. Nehra.
zaqw222222 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 of course we can win it' date='playing in bangladesh is a big plus as our spinners will finally be able to take wickets.[/quote'] Last T20 WC was played in Sri Lanka and still we got knocked out in super six stage
kubrickian Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Even in the IPL' date=' the best bowlers are non- Indians.[/quote'] True. I'm not sure Indians even like cricket. They just like batting. Even in street cricket, most kids want to bat and nobody wants to bowl. Our pitches are tailor made so the batting kings can hit centuries and make merry. We play a very poor brand of cricket in India.
fineleg Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Its just T20, get A-squad players in to gain experience. No one cares about the tamasha cup.
kubrickian Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Its just T20' date=' get A-squad players in to gain experience. No one cares about the tamasha cup.[/quote'] We are not setting test cricket on fire either. :cantstop: Our seamers will struggle to get Zimbabwe out overseas.
Tiger80 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 It is after IPL we stopped winning matches in T20 I think it is after IPL T20 cricket picked up.Players started taking it seriously.First T20 world cup was hardly taken seriously by any country.Even India did not send best Indian pacer Zaheer for it
fineleg Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 yes but give exposure to the A-squad and U-19 type players in the T20 Internationals. Try them out. The Zols, Samsons, Rishi Dhawans, Rasool...Unmukt Chand...
kubrickian Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 yes but give exposure to the A-squad and U-19 type players in the T20 Internationals. Try them out. Why do you think the "exposure" in T20 internationals is important for longer versions ? You said its tamasha format, why should anyone care how one plays in it ? Its not going to improve anyone's technique or temperament if they play World T20.
fineleg Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 ^ not for technique or temperament. Just for exposure to International match pressure situations, and facing a few deliveries from good quality international bowlers (pacers/spinners) or bowling to batsmen like ABDV etc. For those types of experience.

They are doing that in IPL already. What's the need for playing in World T20 ?
