Heck even Pathan used to notch up till 140's in early days.. Agree with this bit, I still can't get what promise does the team management see in Ishant.

I am talking about test here.In odis anybody can bowl a spell at 140s even bk touches 140in odis. Its tests where stamina and work ethic come to fore.Munaf in tests apart from his first test against eng went to 130s and rp singh ,zak,nehra in tests were always 125ks -135ks bowlers.Nowhere in indian history you have 3 guys who can average 138-140ks in a session and i follow speeds for long time now.

Ashwin was dropped when he performed badly. He just keeps getting picked and he isn't all that bad, can still improve but Dhoni's outlook on selecting quicks are horrendous. An 8yr old would have a better knowledge. Opting for Dinda ahead of Shami in the 1st Paki ODI last year. Vinay over Shami and the list goes on...

I think it has something to do with hid keeping. He doesn't look comfortable while keeping to geniune quicks like yadav and aaron.
