Our fast bowlers will have to start using their brains more, says Mahendra Singh Dhoni

"Back at home we talk about pace and bounce. We get bowlers who can bowl quick but they end up giving more runs without even bowling at the slog. So we have to find a fair balance. what can we infer from this?
to be fair to Dhoni, Aaron bowled like an idiot in his second spell..he bowled 2 balls short and wide and it was dispatched for 4 by Taylor and then he comes back and bowls another big short and wide ball. That shows his level of thinking. Our bowling is sh!t, doesnt matter if the bowler has pace or not they just do not have any brains. Shami has been consistently giving 7 rpo in the last 3 games and he is considered our strike bowler. Bhuvi has lost his initial zip, he is not getting wickets with the new ball and Aaron well he is just gun barrel straight and to top that he bowls 1 boundary ball every over. When we have bowlers like this what the hell can Dhoni do, go back to his tried and tested formula of having part timers bowl the quota of these bowlers and then hope spinners take wickets.

Its amazing. Shows clear agenda
I just cannot believe how you guys keep ridiculing Dhoni for every thing. Aaron did not bowl anything spectacular yesterday, the wicket he got was also a lucky one and then he kept feeding Ross Taylor short and wide balls. IF you guys can criticize Ishant for bowling bad not sure why you cannot criticize Aaron for bowling filth yesterday.

I would understand if he had said the same thing for the all the matches that happened in recent times. 363 in SA? It looks like a selective criticism.

He is the one instructed his pacers to bowl back of the length, when they go for runs he goes after them. So don't understand the logic. He should have let them bowl they wanted to and asked for opinion about field set. It looked like bowlers are petrified to bowl full as it is not "team's plan"

He's clearly making grounds to bring his kawk sucker Ishant...

During the opening partnership, both Shami and Bhuvi were consistently bowling 2-3 deliveries on the leg side every over. Yesterday's bowling performance cannot be given any excuses, it was downright pathetic from all our fast bowlers.

dhoni is right, bowlers dont have brains or the skills but what about urself Mr mule? kept on bowling with rayududharan (though is action was the show stopper :hysterical:) ,removed ur pacer the next ovr after he picked a wkt and keeping ovrs of jadeja for later stage when it was already too late!!

the most hilarious moment was in the 3rd rayudu ovr where he bowled a decent 1st ball, dhoni liked it and shouted "yehi rakh saari balls",next ball boom 6 ,lol dhoni's face expressions were lolworthy!! i guess this incident might have been 1 of the reasons that prompted him to say this

obviously Dhoni has his own agenda, but some fans still believe India have good pace bowlers.

but even Nathan McCullum is not a wicket taker.
so we now compare our spinners with their part timer? its like comparing our batting line up with pakistan's or an aussie fan justifying their pacers by saying "so what even the indian pacers went for runs" :cantstop: ..we are a SC team and our strength is spinners(at least thats what dhoni thinks),we should produce better spinners than these 2 tbh, pace bowling is pants so at least one department should be stronger..but i guess we are happy with 20 ovrs 100/1 type performances with the spinners which is a sad state of affairs.

yesterday both our spinners bowled 20 overs for just 74 runs. I dont think you can ask for anything more from the spinners, obviously you would have like them to take couple of wickets. But it is not like they did not create any chances, Jaddu bowled quite brilliantly in his first spell and beat the bat consistently. He was unlucky to not have picked any wickets. Taylor and Williamson were happy to rotate Ashwin for single, they did not take any risks against them. If we had a bowler like Zak yesterday i am pretty sure he would have taken couple of wickets after the pressure created by these spinners but alas we just have some brainless bowlers who have no idea how to pick wickets.

Tbh the bowlers did bowl crap (pacers) but i dont even think they know what they need to do. Take wickets? slow run rate? line and length? Why not let them set their own fields? They have bowled well in domestic and on a-tours so leave them to it, tell them u want wickets whatever and go for it. Last match dhoni said 2 bouncer PER OVER, so when that happens he now says they need to use brains. To be fair, short and wide is not a proper bouncer. A lot of work needs doing and yes we may lose more matches BUT this is invaluable practice and exposure. Keep the pacers, rest shami for resting reasons, bring in pandey and draft in awana, suyal, shukla, pankaj, yadav, kulkarni and others.

Indian fast bowlers problem is their names IMO. Jawagal Srinath, Venkatash Prasad and Zaheer Khan those are good names for fast bowlers. Varun Aron is decent should stick with him. Others suck :puke:

But our seamers like Ishant sucked on much more helpful surfaces. He didn't have anything to say? Second of all who asked his bowlers to bowl back of the length which was not their natural length. Mills mixed up his deliveries very well with slower ones and full ones. Because he had no instructions to do such things. He just did . But our bowlers had instructions to bowl a tad short.

As a captain i guess he thought that was the best way to get results on this pitch. I am not saying it is the right tactic but hey he is the captain and if he feels that this will give him wickets then he has to discuss that with his bowlers. This is international cricket, if plan A does not work the bowlers should be smart enough to have a plan B and have the talent to get it right. You cannot say that hey you know what my captain asked me to do this and i tried it and although i was getting carted around i will still keep doing the same. His bias with Ishant is well known so i really have nothing to comment on that. All i am saying is our replacement bowlers are either bowling worse or at the best bowling like Ishant which is very sad.

But yar uska bowling action bada mast tha :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
I know, when he held the ball, I thought we had found Douglas Jardine, but when he bowled, I realized Ashwin got a competition.
