Because he was an yes man his position did not get questioned. Srikkanth fought for players in 1989 series.. though he was extremely poor as a batsman he was dropped from the side. From captain to loss of place from the side.

The only player with enough goodwill and impossible for BCCI to sideline right now is Kohli. So onus on Kohli to start questioning Dhoni and BCCI.

Vengy was still estbalishing himself. Only after Vengy becamse world no.1 batsman in 1986 he was made captain. Sunny's retirement also coincided with that. Mohinder had a history with selectors. No one else was available at that time to hold their spot apart from noob Azhar. But i have to say those days test series loss was a big thing even against mighty teams. NOwadays we go easy on our team if they have a tough loss against a really top class team.

Not his fault if he has shyt bowlers, people criticize his field placements but what can a guy do when he has tried every orthodox placement to get a wicket.
