Also, this is the first time this has been done in India on such a scale so I would say it was not bad. p.s. Do check out some of the roasts done by Comedy Central - they are on YouTube.

Even as insults they were not clever I only saw first part .. Send me link of good ones ..I have seen roast of one gaming youtuber and it was 100 times funny :giggle:

I don't like jokes on skin color. But, a lot of Indians like jokes on that subject. Talking abt friends and relatives.

I prefer a hasya kavi sammelan over this and I am dead serious.this is nothing but a bunch of wannabes trying to come across as something else and looking like total dicks.

Usually the roasters are either close friends of the roastee or generally unfunny comedians who cannot come up with original material in their stand up careers.

You may like it or you may not. For every person who didn't like the performance, there was another who liked it, tweeted about it, shared it on social media and all this has made it the talk of the town. And so what if it is a western concept? Thousands of things we do, enjoy and share are western concepts only. The west is also welcome to try out 'Hasya Kavi Sammelans' if they find them interesting. The only issue I have with the 'culture of insult' is where you draw the line.

Yeah the Indian comedy of men dressing up as women is so incredibly sophisticated. Kapil Sharma has made a name mostly on this style of amazing comedy I for one am glad they are trying something different. I am sick of seeing cross dressing on TV. They might be posers now, but they will learn and evolve

Not sure though I think it would be because of legal repercussions. They were already getting a lot of publicity without doing much so pulling it doesn't make that much sense.
