I don't think so. Chennai and Rajasthan can still be part of IPL. Weren't Sun risers Hyd allowed to retain the team DC had (which they chose not too iirc)? I think BCCI has enough time to float tenders for these 2 franchises, despite the image taking a hit, these 2 r popular bases and can go for a good price.

IPL is a fantastic concept, it has the potential of becoming the richest sporting league in the world within 8-10years. The issue is with IPL in the current form, noone has any say in the way IPL works, it will mature in the coming years. My hope is the current wave cleans up a bit of mess , if we can have a bunch of true pros run IPL then we have a wonderful product in our hand.
