They don't have the batsman, both in quality and numbers. They only have 5 batting options in their entire squad. So, even a out of form player like Hussey will still get to play. Its understandable to opt out Maxwell, but why Smith and MJ? Smith is any day better than Hussey in T20s. Poor openers, out of form middle order followed by hacks like Harbhajjan and Johnson in the lower order. Terrible! Hussey was the highest run scorer last year and i would guess would be in top few in all his seasons (cept the ones where hayden was preferred ofcourse). With Sachin retiring, hussey, on paper, was a perfect pick to replace him at the top. Dwayne smith, apart from a couple of good innings against CSK, i cant really remember if he was consistent enough. Mumbais issue is not just hussey. Its how they have been all these years. They never think about the future. They always throw money at the flavor of the season and forget about the building a team. This is like their 1st season. Their team is not working. But not to worry, they will throw a lot of money in the next auction to get a couple of good players. A couple more the next year. Then they will start winning again.
