Well, he was primarily only protecting his own wicket. Playing defensive strokes at crucial times. Not once, but a majority from the number of deliveries faced. The forward defense strokes is inexcusable. In T20s, if you are playing to save your wicket, you aren't gonna get much respect from your teammates and fans.

You don't defend when you come down the track, you go through with the shot. You don't guide or cut to find the fielder you try to whack the ball out of the park. Wodrs don't do justice to what he was doing. Pls look at the highlights, pls look at the disbelief of his teammates when the tamasha was going on. flashback to the Yuvi of 2007, having already whacked broad out of the park a couple of times, a guide, a cut to the fielder for single would have been enough but what did he do? Whacked him out of the park every time he bowled in that over. But the yuvi of 2014 is woefully out of form player, who is trying to stay in the crease for as long as possible hoping against hope he gets back his magic touch. He can do that, thats how many people get back to form... but not when he is playing the finals of a T20 WC representing his country. I am sorry he is great player but he total disgraced himself last night. I am sorry for him, but thats far as it goes. you will need to face the consequences of your actions. As much as he basked in the glory of those six 6's, he will need to face the consequences of this selfish innings.

There was no intent and knowing Yuvi he would be the last guy I would expect to be selfish but lack of intent is what is pissing of a lot of fans. As I said maybe initially he was just trying to give strike to Kohli hoping for things to get better.Who knows.I'm speculating too.I was mad too yesterday but won't say hes selfish etc.

I would have agreed with that, If I hadn't seen him turning down a risky single/couple and at both instances he would have been at danger. A batsman who was trying to up the ante would have taken the risk, given Dhoni, raina, Jadega were still in the dug out. Malinga was always going to be difficult to Hit. You should have a game awareness, and tried to compensate before hand. Also you need to see the way Dhoni played malinga and the way yuvi did. Dhoni was unsuccessful too, but there was intent. Yuvi, even if had connected against Malinga wouldn't have got him much. Have we seen slower innings? yes, Misbhah comes to your mind immediately. But that is the way he always plays, that his natural game. Yuvi's natural game was something else. I am not sure how else I can define the innings.

Well, it's because of his big star attitude. He wanted to save himself and his wicket while hope others have a wonderful time. But unfortunately, rest of our team also struggled but yet tried to do something to overcome the difficulties. Whereas, UV refused to do anything, he simply refused the responsibility.
