So according to namely life-long secularists, the only way to see if one is secular is to check the number and the position levels of Muslims. So according to them, certainly it is a communal army.

I have heard that there was a section of muslim soldiers who pretended to deflect to pakis and then shot them and captured some area, its was a ****ing war, all soldiers did what they could. I wouldnt have cared if he had said "muslims helped in winning the war or did the best they could" but saying "Not by hindus but by muslims "is wrong

Raghav_12 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Use of word "not by hindus" is wrong. If he had just said that Kargil was won by Muslims than I wouldn't have found it offensive. Bringing Hindus in statement puts it in bad taste. There have been claims by various castes and groups to claim they are more patriotic than others like Rajputs and Sikhs. I have seen people easily saying Sikhs have been bravest of the soldiers without causing a single eyelid to lift. But by saying "not by hindus" he made things look bad. By extension he is trying to say that Muslims are more patriotic or nationalist than hindus. I would have little problem if more muslim leaders encourage muslim masses to prove that. Taking pride in declaring so also goes directly against the campaign of certain groups who believe that patriotism for India doesn't exist in Muslims of the country.

Imagine one had said the same thing, just replaced it with Hindus. Surely, you would call it communal statement. Both things are indecent, it's Indians, not religion based.
