Politicians saying all crap. People standing in elections not to win but make governments falls. The hatred this will breed for governance will push this country towards uprisings.

In my response below to G_B, is what I was trying to get across. @ G_B For one, if you think Muslim wives/daughters are "brow beaten" by and large into voting for or against a certain party, you couldn't be more wrong. I don't know on the basis of what you make that statement. Neither do I buy your point on "leaders" like Abu Azmi have their fingers on the pulse of the community. Rather its people like him, who have their hands tightly wrapped around the collective Muslim jugular. Is he a mass leader in Mumbai? How many Muslims would take him to be their leader? A very small percentage. The guy has a very limited reach and/or connect with the populace here. Many times more would swear allegiance to Sharad Pawar and the NCP. If you are trying to tell me that Muslims ( that too from his constituencies in and around Mumbai) may switch votes to SP hearing to these sounds bytes, I will be highly skeptical. People by and large are tired. Tired of the petty trivial politics. Its exactly this stuff what people despise.

However, I think the % is far less than what you see in India. I cannot believe men, especially the ones in power, think that rape is the fault of the woman. :facepalm:

Many years ago while I was having a smoke at a panwala, a girl passed by and she was wearing Jeans and a top, maybe it was sleeveless or too tight, I dont remember but the guy who looked to be working at a reasonable office and looked educated said "BKL,aise nikalti hain fir BC kehti hain baladhkaar ho gaya" people standing around him smiled and nodded their head in agreement. So thats the society we have and hence these leaders.
