cowboysfan Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 We also have to commend the BJP plan for Maharashtra ---In Mumbai/Thane district attract the north indian voter to supplement their gujarati base. Pick marathi candidates to attract marathi votes as well --- In Viderbha talk about statehood --In Marathwada project Punjaka Munde --- Back reservation for Marathas to aid western maharahtra Konkan and Northern Maha are two regions they need a plan but i doubt any other party in maharashtra has such a comprehensive plan for every region. The sena/ncp is weak to non existent in Viderbha. Only the congress have a pan maharashtra presence. But both regional parties of maharashtra just dont have the clout in every region of the state. what are some of their plans to actually be better than congress?
G_B_ Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 what are some of their plans to actually be better than congress? poach their legislators at panchayat level and cripple then in rural areas. Thats the general area. But more than the congress the lowest hanging fruit for the BJP (and the Shiv sena ) is the NCP of Sharad Pawar. They will first round on his people before turning their attention to the congress. This just happened today and there are scores of other cases of NCP leaders jumping ship all over the state. Yet another blow for NCP as 2 corporators defect to Shiv Sena http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/navi-mumbai/Yet-another-blow-for-NCP-as-2-corporators-defect-to-Shiv-Sena/articleshow/46460398.cms With the rise of the MIM the congress has effectively been shunted out of Mumbai region. The MIM is going to eat 4-5% into the congress votes in a highly sensitive region where votes are won on a thin margin. The Congress prospects are good in marathwada with making Chavan the number 1 in the state. He is a mass leader. Realistically I think the Congress will poll about 65-75 in the next assembly election. But the tally of the NCP is going to go down from 40 to about 30. At the moment neither the congress nor the ncp are in a position to take on the shiv sena in the state. So you can just forget about the BJP who at the moment are Shiv Sena x 2. For all we know Maharashtra might become India's most right wing state next election time. With BJP forming government on its own and the Shiv sena being the largest opposition party.
G_B_ Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 And in terms of Governance Avoid scams. Adarsh scam sunk Chavan and Irrigation scam by the NCP sunk the congress in viderbha. It is imperative that Phadnavis or Khadse dont get involved in scams. Corruption issues is what forced Sonia Gandhi to bring in clean Mr Prithviraj Chavan. If the BJP avoid scams and just do what the congress and ncp did for 15 years the bjp will emerge as the single largest party. If anybody is involved in scams its time to jettison them. For what its worth i will concede that Maharashtra did well economically under the ncp and congress. I dont think Phadnavis needs to rock the boat with drastic changes. Obviously farmer suicides are a major issue. But i doubt any political party in the state can solve that issue in a 5 term period. There are social and cultural factors at play.
coffee_rules Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Ban on beef in Mah .. run for your lives.. fascists are coming! No govt has ever banned food .. and drink? Oh wait.. Sir Ravindra Jadeja @SirJadeja Why there's so much of fuss over #BeefBan? If sentiments can be attached to cartoons, they can also be attached to animals!
ravishingravi Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Extremely disappointed with BJP over beef ban and documentary ban. The thinking doesn't seem to be in right direction. Worried too now.
G_B_ Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 BJP president Amit Shah in Tamil Nadu to give a push to ongoing membership drive in the state NEW DELHI: BJP president Amit Shah flew to Tamil Nadu on Thursday to give a push to the ongoing membership drive in the state. Party leaders claimed that Shah was not happy with the sluggish pace of membership drive in the state where elections are due next year. "The state's target was to enroll 60 lakh members till March-end but the party has managed to get only 22 lakh new members so far. There is a huge gap between reality and target. Sometimes i feel the BJP should join a DMK alliance if DMK offer them 50 seats along with the DMDK for 2016. They are not strong enough to fight 2016 on their own.
G_B_ Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 the chorus of YRS Congress merging with BJP grow louder....

Sachin=GOD Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 the chorus of YRS Congress merging with BJP grow louder.... It's like they are just looking for corrupt leaders everywhere.
bulbul Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 It's like they are just looking for corrupt leaders everywhere. Politics is corrupt..even normal people themselves are causing this.
Detonator Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 BJP president Amit Shah in Tamil Nadu to give a push to ongoing membership drive in the state Tamil nadu maybe a state too far for the BJP. Sometimes i feel the BJP should join a DMK alliance if DMK offer them 50 seats along with the DMDK for 2016. They are not strong enough to fight 2016 on their own. He came to the right place, Coimbatore, once a BJP stronghold. Advani didn't make a single step to strengthen the name further so BJP soon became an alien here. Amit shah's visit got a lukewarm response here, but better than the previous visits (except Modi's visit which is in a whole different level). DMK is the last party BJP should align with. They are a congress close in the name of dravidian. Also, it will further dent BJP's reputation here. Also remember that the DMK leaders attack BJP more than before.
Detonator Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 ^ Also remember that DMK is a known supporter of muslims (and stealty supporter of terrorists). coimbatore bomb blast happened during DMK regime. They go to any extent to appease muslims. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/9-Al-Umma-prisoners-released/articleshow/5015658.cms
G_B_ Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 RE YSR The problem for the YSR congress is that they are out even at municipal level. Jagan is bleeding his own money now and they are slowly leaking legislators to the TDP and to the BJP. You need to be in power somewhere right? A lot of the YSR loyalists have been out of power since 2011. These guys are used to power. Given a chance i think 30% of MLA's and MP's will goto mostly the TDP or the BJP. The truth is that Jagan is a novice. Another Rahul Gandhi who has been trading on the name of his father. Most in the political circles of Andhra Pradesh know that CBN is a much more capable operator with more experience than Jagan. He also lacks the discipline to bide his time and keeps making erratic statements. Its barely been 1 year since the TDP won and already there are major cracks in the YSR congress. Left on its own the YSR congress is on the path to collapsing 2 years from now when the lack of power will really bite. While the BJP has been busy boosting membership CBN has been busy causing the defection of district level administrators of the YSR. He is literally crippling the party from beneath. The reports at the moment or even rumours are that Jagan will merge his party with the BJP giving the BJP his 8/9 MP's and he will be accommodated into the central cabinet along with 1/2 of his MP's. This means he is moving out of state politics into national politics. In return he is hoping that the corruption cases against him (of which there is a big chance of him being sent to jail) will be given some respite. In return the BJP will break an alliance with the TDP (handing the TDP ministries to Jagan loyalists). With the creation of two new states I read some 2000 administrative posts are in the hands of the central government for x number of years. YSR MLA's will get a lot of those seats. It will also leave the BJP free to make an alliance with TRS in the Telangana getting about 11 seats in the lok sabha and 1 in the rajya sabha. So the BJP will be covering themselves in a joint session. The loss of 22 TDP seats in lok sabha and rajya sabha with 12 from the TRS + Jagan 8/9
G_B_ Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 @deto they have been in alliance before with the DMK Its not breaking new ground. BJP have been in alliance with the AIADMK and the DMK. Agree on Advani. He fecked up the BJP in Orissa as well. The problem is that the AIADMK is so strong that it does not need anybody to win. Obviously given a choice the BJP should go it alone or AIADMK
amiret Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Without Jagan will be good news. BJP is like holy ganges river. All who merge will be absolved of their terrible sins. Yeddy , Mining mafia Reddys and now Jagan

G_B_ Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 BJP is like holy ganges river. All who merge will be absolved of their terrible sins. Yeddy , Mining mafia Reddys and now Jagan wasnt he proven to be not guilty? But you certainly do have a point. The BJP is absorbing a lot of people with shady backgrounds. While i dont think Modi or most of the major cabinet ministers will be involved in scams, I do wonder what happens if these inducted people are involved in scams. BJP need YSR congress and their organisation without Reddy family....

But DMK-BJP alliance do have a good purpose, more stink will emerge from the UPA govt, esp 2G and a lot more mudslinging will happen Before the alliance, BJP should throw this Tamilisai out of the party, she singlehandedly repelling potential BJP support with annoying statements.
