Puj's game is different than someone like Kohli's. Both are very good players, though the latter can play the quick scoring game better. Hope in the push to "Cmon Puj, Slog/hoick/cowlash for kxip " - we don't affect the classical pure Test match game of ChePu. Will be a travesty if he lets IPL affect his classical batting, or if any chinks develop in the wall-like-armor of Test batting. Some people are better left to develop on their classy Test (and maybe ODI) skills rather than subject them to the $$$ and more $$$ shower of i.p.l.

Better he adapts his game for shorter formats of the game as I don't see tests surviving for long or there will be max 6 to 8 tests a year. A player playing 8 matches a year is travesty

Do not worry tests will surprise much more longer than ipl the way things are going If ipl is as corrupt as we all think and if investigation is going to happen you can say it good bye already

As much as I want him to not screw up his test match technique, I can understand that the lure of $$$ is too good to ignore. A cricketers career is short and they try to make the most of it. I just feel that even in T20's he shouldn't be looking to slog...just play good shorts, find gaps and even if the strike rate is run a ball its good enough as the batsmen on the other end are in supreme attacking form.

And for jobless people. Let's face it. Who even has time to watch test matches ? Its the IPL and ODIs which generate revenue which enable boards to conduct test matches. Without revenue, players and boards will regularly fight because of salary issues and people will lose interest and cricket will die a definite death. Of course, Australia and England will continue to play Ashes which is a popular tournament there and has a lot of history associated with it but most fans in other countries dont have such craze for test cricket. Dont get carried away with a few vocal supporters on internet.

Why would I worry about tests?? I would be very happy if Tests are scraped altogether and IPL is increased for 6 months. A sport which have less than 100 spectators regularly is not a sport. They are surviving because of T20s and ODIs and still people badmouth about limited over cricket. Without T20s and ODIs these pathetic tests would have been dead by now

If he plays T20 then he has to score at acceptable T20 strike rate more often than not. The cheer leaders seem to be very happy on the day when Pujara bats. They don't have to work much due to less fours and sixers .

I sometimes don't get enough of a day's play in Test cricket. The last time I went to watch a Test match in B'lore, the stadium was jam packed! Even clicked a pic of it.
