He reflects the angst of the middle class Marathi Manus who see him as a counter balance to North Indian politics being played.That is why he gets votes.

Only recently did Sohail Khan made it into a song (Jai Ho- I guess?). I remember this posted even on ICF "Favorite Quotes" thread. I am not a bhai fan at all. No. Maharashtrians are one of the nicest people filed with pride but they would never be the aggressors. They will do most to protect their house though and may (as a purely retaliatory gesture) resort to violence. Nothing like Raj T and his ilk. Marathi manus theory is the same kind of divisive, communal and dynasty politics which people decry at the central government but have no qualms in resorting to when it favors their community. Like I said earlier, right/wrong doesn't matter when it favors you; when it doesn't people will start crying foul and start quoting Socrates, Aristotle and Plato.
