MCcricket Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Yadav , Aaron are both very valuable assets who should be persisted with n groomed, monitored both have the potential to be India's true fast bowlers which we never had before , pace wise similar, Umesh has some control issues but is better in test's and is not very strong mentally , Aaron had fitness issues but is strong mentally, both need a good captain for them to flourish and not worry about stopping runs as priority the way Dhoni thinks especially in test cricket. Umesh bowled very well in Australia and Dhoni has not supported him after that much, Aaron is more aggressive at the batsmen though and bowls two lengths at the body or fuller while Umesh has a tendency to err down the leg or bowl short one ready to hit, he should bowl the short one with more intent where the batter has to fend it off .
King Tendulkar Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Why the hell is everyone comparing Yadav v Aaron? You can play both you know!!
CG Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Why the hell is everyone comparing Yadav v Aaron? You can play both you know!! :two_thumbs_up:
gazza Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 should have been picked, average of 32 at a strike rate of 46 and can bowl 145kph+, why was he not picked, he needs to be in the test XI regularly.
MCcricket Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Why the hell is everyone comparing Yadav v Aaron? You can play both you know!! YAAR DHONI EK KO BHI KHILAYE TO GHANIMAT, DO PACERS KAHA SEIN, IDEALLY, sHAMI , pANKAJ, Aaron, uMESH, Pandey, bk SHOULD BE OUR TEST BOWLERS, BUT DHONI LIKES TO THRUST UPON US LOOSERS LIKE ISHAANT, VK, RP, UNADKAT LOL AUR BUDDHA GHODA ZAK
Laaloo Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Why the hell is everyone comparing Yadav v Aaron? You can play both you know!! I'd go to war with a bowling attack of Shami, Bhuvi, Aaron and yadav

zep1706 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Why the hell is everyone comparing Yadav v Aaron? You can play both you know!! Because if the choice is between Aaron and Umesh in test cricket, I would go with Umesh every single time. Personally I am not yet sold about Aaron in test cricket.

express bowling Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Umesh needs to develop the ability to bowl good bouncers with consistency. Then, he will be a much better FAST bowler and very difficult to leave out. Bounce is one of the most potent weapons of a true fast bowler . Umesh should work on this aspect. All top fast bowlers, even those who are not super tall, has or had good bouncers . Like Steyn, Johnson, Malinga, Shoaib, Lee, Marshall, Roberts, etc. Unless this aspect is there , batsmen won't be afraid of a fast bowler and the effectiveness reduces. I am happy that he is getting outswing consistently again.
zep1706 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 But why is the choice between the two? Its seems most think like dhoni and have to include hijara ishant I don't know about Aaron. My 3 men attack pace would be Shami, Umesh and BK.
express bowling Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I don't know about Aaron. My 3 men attack pace would be Shami' date=' Umesh and BK.[/quote'] I don't think any captain would actually pick all short or medium height pacers without much bouncing ability in a test match. When taller, bouncier pacers are available. Unfortunately Ishant is always the solution to this. It should be someone like Pankaj Singh till we find a tall and fast bowler.
maniac Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Praveen Kumar's success last time has set a very bad precedent....We will see Binny for sure....P.K bowled at around 115 K last time and still ended up trumps ...Me and someother ICFr's told you guys then that this will hurt in the long run.....Bumping the relevant thread http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=268904

maniac Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Aaron has a lot to prove...Umesh is a much superior athlete than Aaron...Infact Umesh is probably the 2nd best natural athlete in the team after Jadeja. Playing Aaron given his Injury prone background might lead to boneheaded moves Dhoni bowling, etc,Need to constantly monitor his match-fitness
express bowling Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Pandey is tall enough' date=' [b']pankaj should replace pissant. Surely.
maniac Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Pandey is tall enough' date=' pankaj should replace pissant.[/quote'] Sorry but don't get the Ishant hate recently....In Bowling friendly conditions he outbowled SHami by quiet a distance......I am all up for Ishant being replaced by Yadav but Pankaj is not the answer...He is another tundler and on top of it unproven. Mark my words...the forum will explode out of hatred once they see him bowl in an international
maniac Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Shami is a good bowler with the older ball,Bhuvi,Yadav and Shami should be the ideal attack but given the current options I would go with Ishant. Aaron is good for ODI's but not worth the gamble in tests with his fitness issues and the others from what I have seen are average.

maniac Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Pankaj Singh is a tall, bouncy fast-medium bowler. Neither medium pace nor fast. He is 125-130,More in the Bhuvi range but yes he has the height......As everyone says and you yourself say we need pace. We should have taken a risk with someone like Bhumrah but our selectors are not known for vision
