More that 589 children from two orphanages in Kozhikode and Malappuram, Kerala, were rescued in a case of suspected child trafficking last week. The arrest of eight people based in West Bengal from the Palakkad railway station in connection with the alleged racket has brought under the scanner private shelter homes run in the state.
During the course of the investigation, three accused confessed that they were working for the Mukkam Muslim Orphanage and the others said they belonged to the Vettathur Anwarul Orphanage in Malappuram
The children are purchased by the orphanages for anything between Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 depending on their age. A three-year-old is purchased for Rs 1,000 and a 12-year-old for Rs 3,000, the accused told the police. The orphanages then sell these children in the Gulf for anything between Rs 5,000 to Rs 100,000. The girls are forced into prostitution and the boys are employed as servants in the houses of the rich, the police investigation revealed.
The issue took a political turn after the Indian Union Muslim League, a partner of the ruling United Democratic Front, alleged conspiracy against their community. IUML General Secretary and Lok Sabha member E T Muhammad Basheer said, “I feel that there is something wrong in the manner in which the case is being probed.â€

Oh god selling kids to prostitution and on top of that award was given. To get favours from cong u just need to wear a skull cap even if u r Dawood.

The strategy is unbelievable. They bring in kids from North India in thousands, make them live in orphanages, show this count and obtain grants from govt and or wealthy western donors. Now, these guys need education. So they start schools and appoint teachers to educate them. Schools get aid from the govt, and they also get huge sums from these teachers themselves for their appointment. The amount are mind boggling, each teacher to be has to pay 20 lakhs. Now they either sell these kids to overseas clients. Otherwise they ritually grow and covert them into foot soldiers for Islamic parties or institutions in the state. Many of them are brainwashed and there is a good chance thy might even go down the T path. And all these adds to the vote bank as well.

Wait and watch where both Kerala and WB go in the next few years
two very different animals, we are speaking of here. Mallu muslims are a lot more 'typical' than the bong muslims are. Solving west bengal is simple. BJP needs to become a force in WB and they need to do it without supporting Gorkhaland (which i consider to be a potentially treasonous idea). The key to solving Bengal is the 'look east policy'- no, not the one about South East Asia, its the one inside our country: the seven sisters. Kolkata is the nearest Indian port to anywhere in the North east. Develop North East instead of subjecting them to hindustani 'chaptaa' type racism. Doing so, automatically, solves Bengal.

IUML-Cong 'I' Group Rift Widens

MALAPPURAM:The difference of opinion between Ramesh Chennithala and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) over bringing 589 destitute children to orphanages in the State has paved the way for another battle between Congress ‘I’ group and the IUML. The issues between these groups were settled temporarily when Chennithala, the ‘I’ Group leader of the Congress, became the Home Minister. The clash between Congress ‘I’ group led by Ramesh Chennithala and the IUML started with the ‘fifth minister’ issue in the UDF. A section in Congress strongly came against IUML blaming that it was enjoying more than its due in the government. But, the IUML managed to get the support of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and secured an extra berth in the cabinet. Congress party leaders like K Muraleedharan and Aryadan Mohammed used every situation to ***** the IUML with their comments. Chennithala himself had the opinion that the relationship between the Congress and the IUML should be curtailed. He also blamed the efforts of the IUML to exploit its clout in UDF. However, the issues were settled down when Chennithala became the Home Minister of the state. But the temporary truce between the two groups has ended with the issue over bringing children from other states to the orphanages in the state. “We are sticking to our stand on the issue. But the meeting has not criticised Ramesh Chennithala. He has the freedom to stick to his stand in the issue and we have the freedom to define things in our way,” IUML general secretary K P A Majeed said. It is learned that the IUML is adamant on the issue following the pressure from the Sunni E K faction. E K Sunni leadership feel that Ramesh Chennithala is closer to the A P Sunni faction. They are using the comments of Chennithala as a tool against him. The IUML is utilising the situation to repair the patches appeared in their relationship with the E K faction. However, the Congress leadership is still considering the stand of IUML against Chennithala as a result of misunderstanding his statement. “I think that the IUML has totally misunderstood what Chennithala said about bringing children from other states to the orphanages in Kerala. He is the Home Minister of the state and responsible to inquire about such incidents. The comment of Home Minister is not a personal one. He has all the files related to the incident”, Congress leader Joseph Vazhakkan said. There are also efforts to term the statement of Ramesh Chennithala as ‘communal’. The senior leaders of Congress have not yet come up with their stand on the orphanage controversy. However, the Youth Congress has come up with support for the Home Minister. Youth Congress state secretary Sidhikh Panthavoor said that the allegation against Chennithala was condemnable.
