what a ****ing joke to call this kerala team? with none of the playing XI being a keralite?
That's called franchise Loyalty-Even the owners are Maharashtrian and Telugu.Just like IPL,there are never too many local players in the squads. Except the Vijayan brothers(are they Tams or Mallus???) has there been any other relevant player from Kerala.....may be the league and the franchise's success will produce some good kerala players given the fact that it is one of the hot-beds for Indian soccer traditionally :dontknow:

Next year, ISL may have Thierry Henry

The French have a thing for Arsenal and it seems Arsenal have a thing for the Indian Super League. Arsene Wenger's former wards have made a beeline for the new tournament and the initial experience of Robert Pires, Nikolas Anelka, David Trezeguet and Mikael Silvestre is set to open the door for a certain Arsenal man responding to the name of Thierry Henry, the biggest Gunner of them all. According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, the ISL has got the former Arsenal star interested and he is likely to join in the next edition once his contract with Major League Club New York Bulls comes to an end. The French newspaper reports that Henry is looking forward to the Indian challenge. After France, Italy, England, Spain and the United States, Henry could continue his world tour by discovering India and its new league. The project has caught the attention of Henry who has apparently got the feedback on ISL from his friends Pires, Trezeguet and Anelka. According to sources, Pires may get the player-manager's job next season and Henry will be Goa FC's marquee player. A World Cup winner with the French team in 1998, Henry has said: "Whenever I get somewhere, I like to find out about the culture, the country and the club to be sure where I step." There was speculation that the inaugural ISL would see Henry in action but his MLS commitments saw him postpone the move. Pires, with whom Henry had a wonderful partnership during their Arsenal days, has gone on record saying that their mentor Arsene Wenger had encouraged him to be part of the ISL. Both were part of Arsenal's unbeaten Premier League winning team in 2003-04. They helped Arsenal win the epithet 'The Invincibles' after that dream run. The other names doing the rounds are that of Rio Ferdinand, currently with Queens Park Rangers, and Bayern Munich's Peruvian forward Claudio Pizarro. Both could be seen in action in India next season. Wenger told a magazine recently that ISL will change the landscape of Indian football. "I know that people in India watch the Premier League and I'm convinced that with such a huge population, it (ISL) will take off."
