How serious is Varun's injury ?
Banerjee, who coaches both Aaron and Umesh Yadav, said the pacer has had only one major injury and has been fine since then. "He had only one major back injury in the past but otherwise he hasn't had any serious injury. This is a different nature of injury, a strain caused by the pace at which he bowls. Some days' rest should be fine for him," Banerjee told HT from Mumbai.

Thanks. Did you notice what their fastest deliveries were ? I wonder whether Ishant's quicker pace was because of Kohli's encouraging words regarding his pace ! :hmmm:
No. He is bowling quicker because his action is much better than what it was previously. Did you missed the lord test where he bowled total 47 overs. http://www.espncricinfo.com/england-v-india-2014/engine/current/match/667713.html His average pace was 84.2 mph in second innings. The interesting is part is when he decided to bowl those barrage of bouncers, he was already bowling his 42nd over of the match! and his 17th of the second innings. so after bowling so much overs he could still able to produce some deliveries, as pacy as this-
79.5 to Prior, 140.1 kph, oh boy! it has worked! it is short once more, Prior pulls once more, picks out Vijay at deep midwicket, I promise to not doubt India's tactics 198/6 81.2 to Stokes, 141.8 kph, Stokes' miserable run continues, duck again! Ishant has five, again the short ball has done it, this was well outside off Stokes goes for the pull, hits low on the blade and swirls high towards midwicket, safely taken by Pujara, India tighten their grip on this one, Stokes' recent scores for England: 0,5,5,4,0,4,0,0,0,0 201/7 81.5 to Root, 139.9 kph, oh my god! this is absolutely surreal, what on earth is going on out there, another short ball, another pull, straight to deep square leg, Binny takes that and celebrates like Lee, jumps and clicks his heels, England batsmen have taken leave of their collective senses here, Root drops the bat in disappointment after playing that shot, he is mortified, he should be 201/8
so after bowling so much overs in that match, and even in that second innings he could still able to bowl deliveries that are even quicker than his average pace(84.2mph) in that innings. Infact his last spell where he got flurry of wickets was his quickest of the match, remember he was bowling non-stop bouncers in that spell with an old ball which require enormous effort. so it just about his rhythm. If he is in rhythm he can bowl 140+ deliveries with ease. It is such a shame he took so much of time to regain his old action and rhythm back. *Another Instance Just to show you how pacy can Ishant be if he is in rhythm- nNbks-qOn-w P_HG6PBt9ic so his pace in today's match shouldn't be a surprise.
