Last evening he had commented about being proud at the Indian bowlers being the quicker ones than the opposition bowlers. Surprised, from someone who used to publicly humiliate Srinath as being an average bowler, to this.

Sanju the Git never appreciated Srinath for what he was - Sri's peak bowling speed was/is faster than all Ind pacers in history barring Umraan and Mayank

Correcr, Srinath never got the credit he deserved and neither he had a proper support of his captains

Think he is getting to a point where is hedging his bets where he is thinking of longevity knowing that there is no potent bowler left in the side and he might have to bowl a lot of over and an injury now can derail his career for good.

He might have to let go of one format, yes he does not play low-key series but now he was called for Bd series and has to play tests in Ind. too with no other dependable fast bowler and ashwin retiring. Plus a depleting/thin batting strength its hard to expect he will go full-tilt now on.

Personally I don't think lack of other good pacers is the reason why Bumrah is bowling slower in more than half his spells and not using enough yorkers and bouncers.

He is not over-bowled in most cases. He plays LOIs only if big ICC tournaments are happening or about to happen. And his workload in tests is very similar to any other top pacer in the last 50 years.

If anything, he will have to bowl less if he can quickly dismiss the tail with 90 mph yorkers or well directed nasty bumpers. If Konstas was bowled some cracking yorkers and well directed bouncers, he won't have survived and reduced Bumrah's workload as a result.

I think it is a Team culture and team strategy under captain Rohit. Just bowl channel balls around 135 k.

Why did rookie Harshit suddenly start to bowl slower and with very few bumpers immediately after Rohit returned. In all probability therein lies the answer.

Bumrah was bowling <130 kph in his later spells. He bowled 23% of all overs. In contrast, Pat has bowled a lot of overs already (9 so far out of 22) and looks fresh as ever. Something is deeply wrong with Bumrah's physical fitness. Moreover, he has always been rather mentally fragile (e.g., 2021 WTC) and I think this came to the forefront during the Konstas rampage.

And I agree with you about the above factors. The noxious influence of Ro-Ga is visible here

As I posted earlier no matter  how great a player you have been ,there is an unsaid thing called "bad luck"

After sometime even the legends rub off manhusiyat, they hold no importance,it's better to get rid of them

Rohit Kohli must be dropped by collar no more respect ,just plain treatment

Hah, BCCI won't drop them. we both know this

Pat Cummins has bowled lots of 130 to 135 k spells in the last 3 years. This series he is bowling quicker than he ususlly does these days.

Bumrah's < 130 k deliveries are not that frequent.

But he is losing intensity and looking tired in tests in the last 3 to 4 months.

All Indian pacers need strength and conditioning training.

They need proper S&C camps for fast bowlers when they are not playing.

I saw several of bumrah's balls at 126-128. I don't recall seeing this many from Cummins. Bumrah seems well and truly cooked. if he plays in SCG, he might operate at a pace that will make undercutter look quick

There is no news about Mayank Yadav. Why don't they release regular press note regarding current Indian players injury status!

because there is no accountability? I thought the answer was kinda obvious

Yes team culture is one thing for sure, clearly these set of bowlers are not pushing themselves and the others.

But again if they can pick early wkts bowling fast why would tm ask them to bowl  ~135 kmph and toil the whole day that does not make any sense. Do not think there is any data behind this which suggest bowling sub ~135 kmph help on Aus pitches.

Think it mostly self preservation on part on Bhumrah.

Ind fast bowler are not 6.4+ tall that bowling 135 kmph is going to help with no extra-bounce.

Harshit is new to Aus, new bowler find it tough bowling there as the pitches are hard that makes landing too heavy and if they have not played before it not easy to manage.

Completely agree that rohit is not a captain for fast bowler or to develop fast bowlers.

Can Mayank bring sponsors ?

If no, then you won't get any news.

Kohli bumping into a 19 year old is the news of the series...now I think it was scripted to add some spice in the otherwise smooth going series.

Quickest was 140.x what I saw.

But Bumrah was bowling a lou slower today even bowled as low as 130 & 131 kph.

I saw several at 127-128 too

We all knew as the series will progress

Bumrah's pace will further reduce

but it is the falloff that is surprising. quite swift.
