It will make his own bowling stats look good as he knows how to pick wickets seaming the ball off length.

 

But certain batters have to be removed using bounce ... because it is their weakness. Or they will run away with the game like Head or Smith. And this is happening regularly since SA 22. 

 

Similarly, pesky tailenders can be removed quickly using quick yorkers or bumpers. Them hanging around will hamper our team's performance.

Bro, for that period, Bumrah bowled around 3100 + deliveries in Test cricket. His strike rate for those 9 wickets was around 109. So nearly a 1000 deliveries were shorter than 8m. 

 

To me, that is pretty conclusive .

rohit and paras "akhtar" mhambrey collectively came up with the idea of making everyone into line-and-length trundlers

fortunately his other skills are compensating. he is being overbowled, but if we win this test, then he can get a breather in SCG where much rain is expected

Can't count on weather predictions. I remember there were predictions of rain spoiling the entire Gabba test last time.

Bumrah has never fully played a 5 test series in his career.  That too with this much work-load as the only strike bowler. 

 

Even in this test he has bowled two 137 k to 144 k spells early on. 

 

So it looks more like self preservation than burnout. He is likely to bowl fast in CT 25 again.

did you see his balls below 130? there was one at 128 (can be found on cricinfo) and another at 127 (not there).

 

from "fast" to "fast-medium" to "medium-fast". he needs to work on physical conditioning and fitness a lot more. He was bowling at anderson-type speeds despite the latter being a decade older.

 

Bumrah is Ind's greatest ever bowler (not just pacer), and one of greatest pacers of all time, but this is a real weakness that should be acknowledged by ICT and worked on.
