Gunroor was bowling decently the first 5 overs that I had watched. I stopped watching  when we struggled to get wickets. I don’t know what happened in the final overs but looks like we conceded some extra runs and lost our cool. He has the ingredients and needs MORE exposure. Anyways I’m not surprised by the knee jerk reactions in some threads though.

The problem really was the start. You don’t take wickets and this is exactly what happens on good England batting tracks with Butler coming back in form. Just look at the past scores.

Bumrah was needed. Prince is probably the most mediocre bowler I’ve seen in a decade playing for India. Arshdeep is marginally better that’s it. Dont be so short sighted.

And Shreyas, Kishan Rahul with no contributions?? Dude u don’t deserve to win then. The whole point of being behind the run rate with wickets in hand is to take advantage later on with those wickets. They failed.

Flat pitch had nothing for Pacers... Archer Atkinson also found nothing post new ball.  The pitch had lowest bounce among three games as per data.

It was made for spinners and Sam Curran type midget slower ball specialists.

A poor Indian batting unit still ended up making 360 tells you all you need to know about the pitch

weak links that opened up due to the last ODI

-  Morne morkel seems to have some communication gap between HIM and New Pace bowlers as the line n length which morne bowled whole is life was hard length 3/4th lenth bouncers and he is best prepared to teach that as it was his goto delivery.2ethirdstump instead of targetting 1st stumpand still when harshit and prasidh bowled on leg stump , he used to show a laughing face. what i wish to call out that he always used to be a SOFT man , a go happy bowling coach and was not a strict guywho could reprimand control his bowling pacer when bowling wrong line . point i wish to highlight is morne is good but he is a bit soft against his wards.

see nehra he as so vocal sitting outsooowqw

i see some thing seriously wrong with the bowling coach.

That's a very umbrella statement. We do not know his method at a personal level. We do not even know how much interference he had from outside parties towards his methods.

Saying someone has not done a good job is fine. But going personal and trying to demerit his coaching style even without knowing how he did it, is not right. Unless you have personally seen him training, which I for sure havent.

Hope both Ashok Sharma and Mayank Yadav are in the playing 11 today.

If only one of them gets to play then I would prefer Ashok as he is fitter and was top wicket taker in SMAT.

Plus, Ashok is a better fielder and has ability to use the long handle.

With India repeatedly struggling with 5 proper bowlers, players like Harshit, Ashok, Gurnoor etc can give the team a lot of flexibility without compromising on bowling.

This is one key aspect which always helped Australia. Starc, Cummins, Faulkner, Lee, Bichel, Warne all were pretty capable with the bat.

Bumrah can be an inspiration to the bowlers as a batter as well, the way he has worked on his batting. Shami, Umesh both were able to contribute with bat. Its an underrated asset whose absence is felt when we are in a dicey situation.

Yes, I want proper 145 k+ pacers to have some batting ability and improve them too instead of picking bits and pieces players to shorten the tail.

India all set to field their fastest bowling duo ever!

May they beat fastest ever combination of Umesh yadav + Varun Aaron + Ishant against Srilanka in 2014 at Cuttack
