Can Mayank bring sponsors ?

If no, then you won't get any news.

Kohli bumping into a 19 year old is the news of the series...now I think it was scripted to add some spice in the otherwise smooth going series.

Mayank does bring eyeballs. Eyeballs mean sponsors. I will give you an example. I had a video of Mayank bowling in the u19 on my channel. It barely had many views but when he played for LSG and hit high speeds, that video overnight got 3-4 lakh views.

I saw several of bumrah's balls at 126-128. I don't recall seeing this many from Cummins. Bumrah seems well and truly cooked. if he plays in SCG, he might operate at a pace that will make undercutter look quick

Apart from 1 over in the 2nd test 2nd innings ( when Bumrah had cramps in the 1st innings ) and maybe this morning ( I did not watch), Bumrah has not dropped below 130 k in this series.

And he has bowled 2 spells at 137 k to 144 k in this test only.

My worries regarding Bumrah are ....

1)  His increasing % of 130 k to 134 k balls especially in tests

2)  Negligible % of 145 k+ deliveries, especially yorkers.

3)  Very few quick yorkers used in test matches. He used this delivery a lot earlier.

4)  He is not willing to use the short ball this year. The quality of his bumpers have digressed too.

correct, and to this add:

5. inability to sustain gas beyond 20-25 overs per match. his last 2 spells had several balls below 130; even if you check cricinfo, you will find 1-2 examples, I am sure.

Agree, but the Indian Cricket operate on batsmanship. BCCI has a firm belief that bowlers don't bring much views.

IPL used to have award for fastest delivery, it has gone now. Hardly many people made noise.

The only fast bowler who makes some noise is Bumrah, because without him our bowling is worse than Zimbabwe. Even for Shami there is no official updates from BCCI and everything is based on the speculation and local sources

Bumrah finally bowled few bumpers to Cummins today..but they were in 130-135 k range.

If he can do the same at 140...things can be spicier.

needs to crank it further.

In test this is kind of his max 143-144, In white-ball he kind of can crank up to 145+.

As  suggested by other posters too he in recent times have bowled alot of sub 140 kmph spells. Its only if Aus desnot get any wkt or need wkt he bowls a fast spell then.

He did same against Pak in the last series, pak had grip on the match then Starc and Cummins will try to crank up in s spell or two and able to get a break through.

What helps is all 3 of Aus bowlers are tall and v.accurate.

Were his bumpers hurrying the batters and getting bounce ?

Need to add Mitchell Marsh(all) and NKR too just for comparison. IIRC, Labu bowled > 135 at peak

TM should play new bowlers like rana, sen, simarjeet, mayank(if fit enough), umran along side bhumrah in odis.

may be  bhumrah bowls 6-7 overs only when needed and guide these bowlers so that they learn the craft of the trade and when under-pressure bhumrah can guide or bowls himself.

This way these bowlers can be fast tracked and will have the know how of how to bowl and pick wkts in different phases of the game.

Right now these bowlers lacks that know how and lacks wkt taking ability.

Have not seen him go under 136 kmph, consistently hitting low 140s. But not as fast as he used to be.

Completely stopped bowling bouncers
