I know Rohit is a negative iq ultra chewt guy But what is the role of DSP?after playing so many games he's still behaving like a rookie who is playing in the protective umbrella of Bumrah He is there to share load of Bumrah,he should come forward and say I will do it for India All this shredding tears during Anthem don't mean a zilch if you don't take any responsibility express bowling and Ultimate_Game 2

tapandrun Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) Can see bhumrah going Srinath's way here. These captains have no idea how to utilize the pacers. They have not been able to induct any good pacer in the team and the ones they have they are hell-bent to burry them. Hopefully by the end of bgt bhumrah comes out uninjured, but by the looks of it they want him to bowl every over and get Aus ao. This shows how and why high potential fast bowlers are not making into the team, they are not given chance to grow, learn, develop... This is why they keep calling for finished products, they donot want to put any effort into it. The reason why thakur, mukesh, undakat, khaleel, avesh keeps making into the team. Mentioned this on this thread regarding bhumrah might be looking for longevity, there is no support frm other end. The captain has no idea how to get wkt if bhumrah is not bowling. That's why I want Bumrah to be the captain, and I want selectors to listen to Bumrah to pick the pool of next gen pacers. Bumrah would've interacted with and seen most of the pace options we have and he would know whom to back and who can be the future match winners. Use Bumrah as a mentor to guide the next generation of pacers by making Bumrah the captain and let him choose, select, guide and mentor the future generation. All Rohit has done is stall all progress of our pacers and is so dumb that he can't think of anything other than throwing the ball to Bumrah. express bowling 1

For bhumrah to captain he would have to play every single game, not a good idea. He has already been injured twice. The best way to utilize bhumrah would be to induct high potential fast bowlers in ODis and play them along side bhumrah where he only bowls 6/7 overs and others try and bowl under his guidance and he only bowls when needed. The newer bowlers need to learn how to take wkts. Right now there is no plan to develop any bowlers

Right now there is no plan to develop any bowlers we cannot rely on 1 man to "develop" pacers. changes from grassroots level onward are needed. likewise, our spin reserves barring kuldeep are bare - the rest are all darter ARs who cannot take wkts abroad. Also big issues with test batters emerging

Also big issues with test batters emerging The grassroots level changes are hard to make, teams are playing to win and these sub 130 kmph bowlers offers lower eco and in helping condition wkts too. Batter pokes at these dibbly-dobbly balls and gets caught in slips or by wkt-keeper and if not caught those edges does not go to boundary. There are nt many 135+kmph bowlers playing/getting games at domestic at level and there are fewer playing Ranji Any1 trying bowling 135+ kmph only comes as 1 change, if they go for runs they are removed from attack, when and where are they going to learn, due to extra pace edges goes to boundary nt ending-up in slips or wkt-keeper's hands. Some times well timed cover-driver goes to boundary due to extra pace. Any new bowler going for runs gets dropped next match. Its the harsh reality of it. Samething with extra bounce bowlers edges goes over slips. Mentioned this about spin too the reason for getting big turners of the ball is because it takes time to develop skills and control the spin. Teams want eco. bowlers there you get darters. A new leg-spinner will bowl short balls get hits, will bowl fulltosses this is why Ind does not have big legspinner but bowlers like bishnoi and R.chahar and chahal who cannot really rip the ball. This season too Gurnoor gets dropped after getting hit for run in couple of matches same with sakib, nagarkoti was lucky that he had a good game. Sen has hardly played any cricket in last 2/2.5 years now. Need to make it mandatory to have bowler bowling 135+ kmph consistently in Ranji sides. For test you need tall fast bowlers there is no other way around it. Ind keeps selecting bowlers like Aqib, Avesh, Kumar, Kamboj, dar, etc for development tours and series, are they high potential bowlers ???? or they are just making to the team because they are perceived as eco. bowlers ??? Saini still plays in A teams what is the point of that ..... There are more fast bowler (with some potential) in IPL teams nets than the ones playing at ranji level.

Grassroots doesn't mean Ranji level. It means starting much earlier - U16 to U19 level, and even before. Bowlers with height, fast twitch muscle fibres can be identified in this period, and they should be sent to specialized training camps. If you think that seems outlandish, note that many sports pursue such approaches - look at when & where Messi was recruited by Barcelona, and he's not the only example by any means, just the most famous one tapandrun 1

Pant can be the vice captain who can step in when Bumrah is away and that'll also help us with our captaincy succession plan.
