Sanju looked out of water against pace, this could be amongst slowest wkts around

All these batters look uncomfortable whenever the ball is short and well directed.

Stark difference in Ind commentators whn eng. bowlers are bowling 145+kmph, lot of appreciation for pace.

Can’t blame them today. They can only commentate what’s in front of them.

Only top batters looks good playing 145+ kmph well directed short deliveries but sanju looked v.uncomfortable

Can someone here keep tabs on this dude named Nishant Saranu ? i realize he isnt 'express phast' so wont excite a lot of the fans here, but from what i heard, the lad is 18 or 19, making his Ranji debut this season and is like a giant - 6 foot 9 or something.
It means if he is properly groomed, he will become at the very least, a type of fast bowler India never has had : a good stock bowler with the old ball, workhorsing through the middle overs due to having astonishingly high bounce compared to others and basically becoming desi Walsh of the 80s and early 90s : the world's best 1st change bowler.

Release from an unusual height and steep bounce, even at 130 k+, is probably more difficult to handle than low bounce 145 k.

yes, thats why i wanna keep an eye on him. If treated properly, his floor could be a 25-30 averaging pacer who bowls first/2nd change.....which would be an AMAZING record for a pacer who only bowls from overs 20-60 period for most part. We need a guy like that and those guys are normally ultra-tall to make up for old ball not moving by getting more bounce due to height.

It bears mention that except for Bumrah, the entire subcontinent never has had a pacer who was effective in the 20-60 over mark. Imran,Wasim,Waqar, were all opening bowlers who struggled mightily as first change bowlers and relied mostly on the new ball and reverse swinging old ball to take wickets, with middle overs of 20-60 over mark being done by spinners and whichever pacer bowled the middle overs of the big names, still only did a very very ordinary job. Wasim and Imran rarely took wickets in the 20-60 over region and just kept things tight, waqar leaked runs like a water truck used for target practice.

And IMO its down to height - the only successful 3rd/4th pacers were pacers like Walsh, Garner ( Back in the early 80s where Garner came 1st change after Holding/Roberts opened, then Holding-Marshall opened and Garner only got to opening bowler after Holding retired), an early Shaun Pollock etc - all of whom are tall feckers.

Even nowadays, the best 1st change bowler i see in world cricket is Josh Hazlewood - who is also a lambu

extra pace being useful on one of the slowest wkt around. eng may lose the game but the team management's mind set.

and bowlers are coming in bowling as fast as they can hitting the deck hard. hardly and cutters right now.

Saw some highlight of Sanaru playing, apart from v.high release does not seem like anything else is going for him not a strong action.

Nearly no use of frot arm, does nt have the kind of pace right now plus such a tall frame will it be possible for him to keep himself available for 5days of test??

Do not think he is in Ind plans right now 1/2 injury and he will be done. these kind of tall bowlers need a lot of care, and in a time-period when players are getting injured more and more can he keep himself up and running.

Indian TM & BCCI give rat's @ss caring for fast bowlers.

All they need is some random batter being crowed as superstar.
