Speeds and Performances of Pacers and Spinners

I think we have many options for T20s...but genuine ODI & Test pacers are where we are struggling.

Our quicks are good for 4 overs..but the moment they're expected to bowl 18-25 overs a day...their speeds fall down massively.

Siraj is a prime example...will clock 145-147 in T20s...but wont even touch 140 in tests.

Bumrah, Umesh & Shami were special in that sense...They used to bowl more or less at same speeds in all formats during their prime.

Harshit was struggling to hit the same pace after 5-6 overs. Not sure where does their fitness is going.

Sakib is not a typical T20 bowler. He is an all format bowler.

But somehow I do feel he needs to work on his physique. he is lean and fit and all, but a little more on the lower limbs would add more spice. Thoda plate me aur gosht daalne ki zaroorat hai ;p

I think Sakib is the guy who has been clocked at 147 and 148 a couple years ago. He is the guy who wanted to bowl faster than Brett Lee.

sakib hussain and shabbir khan

sakib is one with hyper-extention, playing fr bihr in current smat season

shabbir is the one with lee's action copy, not seen him for sometime now

Sakib Hussain..was in KKR last time..he impressed me in their practice matches but never got a chance..though he also didnt set domestics on fire last time around too..

However,I noticed he was rushing on batters..and could bowl bouncers and yorkers to the likes of Russel and Rinku and other good batters in KKR practice matches..He troubled all..

probably..just need some more match time..and consistency..he has potential..

Think he is raw, not anywhere being polished for IPL team to give him a match. He was with KKR season before, not this one.

Faster bowler hardly gets any game, think there is some directives from top , only this season we are seeing tall fast/ faster bowler getting some game.still not consistently.

But lot better than previous years.

Yaara, Trilok, Sakib, Simar, Ashok, Nagarkothi, 3 tall bowlers from Hmchl team, Gurnoor, Gurjap , Sen .... previously they hardly used to get any game.

Think this domestic season these were/are the fastest pacers (in this order)

Ashok, Eden, Sen, Arsad/Gurnoor.

My perception

Sen, Eden, Gurnoor, Ashok, Arshad.

Gurnoor is very good at maintaining speeds and is the bounciest of this lot.

Ashok may clock some very high speeds but likely to be up and down in terms of speeds like Harshit.

Agree. This TM and selectors are trying to develop quicker and taller pacers.

Ashok doesn't impress me much, too early but first impression isn't good

That's my observation, but his lengths are like Ashok Dinda

Pitches way  short ,good batsmen (most of them in IPL , international cricket)will enjoy facing him,

Predictable ,ball after ball, wait at backfoot pull, scoop, slice ,ramp everything they can give a try

Oh yes. What happened to him? He was a proper genuine quick.

Yes most, new Ind fast bowlers has this issue due to lack of list A and FCC m hardly any 1 has developed a stock ball.

They either ball short or full, but need to develop these bowlers who have some ingredients or something extra in them. else will always find run of the mill LA/RA noting kind of bowlers

Last heard of him was that he was net bowler with RCB but that was like 3/4 yrs back something like that.

Yes didn't say don't need to develop them

Every pacer having reasonable to high pace must be on radar and developed accordingly as pace is something which one is born with

Other attributes need to be learned or deciphered, need high IQ bowling coaches to work with them like Arun

But ,he shouldn't be just asked to bowl.short like Umran was spoilt by SRH management years ago ,when he was on song he used to bowl full at stumps and picked bucketful of wickets

Yeah !  Very small sample size but not impressed with Ashok based on last day's game. Hope this impression changes later on. Coaches are pretty poor too. The moment they see a real quick pacer they tell him to bowl 5 short balls an over and ruin him.

Gurnoor and Eden are probably the most skilful among our newbie 140 k+ pacers.
