So why's the pitch not the Traditional English types??

Well I agree that the overhead conditions play a role in helping the Duke ball to swing, but there's usually also enough bounce that the ball carries. Not WACA levels, but around the amount that NZ pitches bounce. There's also the occasional pitch with lots of seam movement, but we haven't seen those in England for quite a while.

Grass is not brownish for a start and the ball doesn't keep low. Traditional England pitches usually have true bounce, not the inconsistent bounce where one ball shoots up and the other keeps low like in India or extravagant bounce like in Perth. This particular pitch is slow and low.

Not really. . . More money is needed to make the pitches like this (in ENG) as they've to cut the grass from the pitches :--D

Wrong. We lost both series convincingly. We could have easily lost 2-0 vs SA and 7th ranked Test team NZ easily drew second Test and convincingly won the first. But, we are here in England now, where the last time we played, we were beaten 4-0 in 4 Tests. So, recent records suggest that we are not very competitive away from home.

how did we lose convincingly. We could have won first first test in SA. Even in Durban, we were in great position with Vijay and Pujara dominating before weather fecked us on first day. In Auckland, we could have won lost just by 40 runs, second test should have won. All the matches were very similar to this where we couldnt capitalize from strong positions.
