wrong. Pitches in SA and NZ were pacey ans bouncy and we were still cimpetitive.

Wrong. We lost both series convincingly. We could have easily lost 2-0 vs SA and 7th ranked Test team NZ easily drew second Test and convincingly won the first. But, we are here in England now, where the last time we played, we were beaten 4-0 in 4 Tests. So, recent records suggest that we are not very competitive away from home.

The new drainage system. Curators can only do so much to help prepare a track as requested by the home team, they can do jack **** to get around such a constraint as the inability of the pitch to retain moisture.

Well yeah, it's about money, but I actually think green pitches would've made India favourites. Especially if they won a few tosses. England basically can't bat in any conditions these days; they fall apart against Ishant Sharma on the slowest pitch I've ever seen outside the subcontinent. Green pitches would result in sub 200 scores. India would also struggle, but they have a few quality batsmen (Pujara, Kohli, Rahane) who might put on enough partnerships to win some games.
