Green pitch at Lords....with pics

play ashwin and pandey /pankaj and drop both jadeja and binny if its actually green also ashwin should be considered all rounder ater his recent innings he is not slogger like bhajji who got hundreds but played proper innings

I'd play Binny and Pankaj if its green.Ashwin would be useless with the ball on such pitch. Binny can just about do same in batting and hopefully take 1-2 wickets in friendly conditions

binny averages 40 away from home ...probably 3 times more than rohit

Even though the grass will be shaved off,a considerable amount Will remain which is a good sign for us.our bowlers desperately need such pitches to pick 20 wkts.o have trust in our batsmen to score okay on a greentop. Pressure on England

You don't have to play a spinner just for the sake of it, especially if the pitch is not dry. The role of a spinner in Indian team overseas seems to be a containing job and give respite to seamers. If Binny can do that, then we could play another seamer in place of the spinner. Otherwise, we have only 3 seamers to take all wickets which could be a tough job.

Or they should pick Rohit ahead of Jaddu to give batting depth. Picking Jaddu just as a bowler who doesnt pick wickets or doesnt score runs is not working.

Will check the pitch again on Thursday morning to see how much grass is left. If it is a greeentop no Point of playing a spinner,rather play 4 pacers and a batsman at #6

Irrespective of the pitch, the same 11 will most likely play going by Dhoni's post match comments. if its green, Binny will probably have a bigger role to play both with bat and ball.

4 seamers doing all the bowling is a lot of workload. You need to give them a break which is where the 5th bowler comes in.

They need the grass till the penultimate day to hold the pitch together. The absence of bounce and dryness is because of lack of moisture. Simply having grass is not going to create the bounce everyone is hoping for.

They will remove most of the grass but I think it will have more pace and bounce than the one at Trent Bridge. Our spinner will be even less effective. Rohit or another seamer will be a better pick in his place.

4 seamers doing all the bowling is a lot of workload. You need to give them a break which is where the 5th bowler comes in.

With 4 proper bowlers do you need fifth quick ? Better to play ashwin for bowling spin quickly and cheaply and also batting well in lower order... 4 quicks are enough IMO and any more will only lead to one of them being under bowled
