Sachin=GOD Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Unable to get Duncan Fletcher to quit, BCCI transfers him to Mizoram Ever since Duncan “The Limpet” Fletcher took over the reins as Team India’s coach in 2011, he has had a rather mixed bag of results, but the one consistent aspect about him has been his tenacity in the face of great adversity, in clinging on to his position. After futile efforts to get the unyielding Zimbabwean to quit, the BCCI, in an inspired move, has transferred Duncan Fletcher to Mizoram to coach the State team. “The inspiration came from the Modi govt,” said a BCCI insider who wished to remain anonymous. “We have been observing the smart moves by the new government against anyone they want to fire. Rather than being overt and risk courting criticism, they have achieved great results through transfers to Mizoram. We are very pleased with the success of this initiative and its efficacy in ejecting people that just won’t go away. We soon expect to transfer more people to Mizoram.” BCCI’s move has set the cat among the pigeons, with various bodies now looking to ape the Cricket Board. Unnamed sources in CII and FICCI confirmed that the two industry associations were already lobbying with the government to extend industry this facility vis-Ã -vis their employees. “OK, so they won’t allow us to hire and fire with gay abandon. But maybe they can allow us the freedom to transfer employees to Mizoram. That’s much less of a political hot potato. We look forward to ‘Being Mizoramed’ becoming an even more potent part of the management tool kit than ‘Being Bangalored’.” The state of Mizoram, meanwhile, is in a state of panic. “It’s one thing for the rest of the country to ignore us for decades and treat us like foreigners whenever we visit them, it’s entirely another to let loose the likes of Beniwals, Sankaranarayanans, Fletchers, corporate rejects and God forbid, Sagarika Ghose and Uday Chopra among the unsuspecting citizens of my state,” protested Lal Thanhawla, Chief Minister of Mizoram. The state government has now instituted a special Rajiv Gandhi Mizoram Transfer Tax, which requires organizations to pay the state an amount equivalent to their level of desperation for every transfer they make. At a press conference convened to release the poster, the team, a mix of veterans and young blood, posed for pictures with 2-day old stubbles (except Rahul Kanwal) and grim expressions, while the rest of the journalistic fraternity applauded heartily. When asked by our correspondent, if this meant the group no longer had confidence in Rahul Kanwal to take on Arnab in the TRP wars, Purie said, “Never send a boy to do a man’s job.†Later, Headlines Today and Aaj Tak played a short video at 1 hour intervals all day on their channels, where a menacing looking Aroon Purie points a finger at the camera, presumably at Arnab Goswami, and growls, “I am gonna man you up.†:rofl:
Precambrian Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Read their novel '' unreal elections '' today. What to say, this is an underrated masterpiece in writing. Brilliant just brilliant satire, all real life characters but the ending was just astounding!! Just sometimes I used to think that way but seeing it so brilliantly executed is just great. For anyone who love good satire I'd definitely recommend unreal elections. At just 150 rs it is a steal for the entertainment.
