He was like, 'No it's going that way. So I want to bowl over.' So what happens is when you go through that phase it opens that sector for you. Your armoury increases. We don't want to force ourselves on the bowlers, but now in the past four or five games I definitely think their view to bouncers and short stuff has opened up. Now they are using it quite consistently." Dhoni's comments may not show the bowlers' intelligence in great light, but it is a welcome change from a captain who has been accused of being too passive in the field.

One positive change that I see in Dhoni's captaincy in this series is that he has kept fielders in attacking positions at all times. Earlier he used to get defensive as soon as there was a partnership.

It has been tried many times even in nz in that patnership and some times successfully like in kolkatta test vs sa where ishant changed the course of the game.Its just when it works dhoni takes the credit and when it fails the bowlers did not bowl line and length.:cantstop::haha:

bowling short isnt bad, but not every ball, mixing the lengths is better. Yesterday, they were trapped, trying to be too brave, IMO. It is all in mind. Hitting every short perfectly is very difficult thing to do, you will miss hit eventually.

no, pace and bounce helped our bowlers which was not there last game.

Our pacers dont usually bowl bouncers because they are not used to it. In India, pitches do not encourage this kind of bowling. You get seam and swing, not pace and bounce.

Although he is notorious in sticking withe the same team, especially a 'winning combination', I sincerely hope he doesn't continues with this Binny tamasha and get Ashwin in place of him...I don't see Pankaj or any other fast bowler getting any chance in the series...Dhoni is notorious in sticking with his pace bowlers come what May...I would've loved to see Pankaj playing in place of Shami at least in one match...

not sure abt this ashwin love .. one spinner is enough and sir jaffu is the right man with extra swag .. replace binny with any other batsmen except nohit .. 3 pacers + jaddu is enough ( if we need more spin vijay can bowl :P )
