His twitter jabs are EXACTLY the reason why KP was dropped (and should remain dropped) from the English side. He’s the quintessential diva who does not belong in a team sport. He’s the Shoaib Akhtar of England, who thinks his opinion/voice matters above anything else. For eff’s sake, he joked about his captain with players from the opposing team. What more does he have to do? Food poison his team-mates’ dinner? Have you ever had a terrible nightmare in your sleep, but you kinda somehow know that you’re just sleeping and that somehow makes your nightmare less nightmarish? Well, KP’s like a nightmare that wont end for England. The guy divided his team in half when he was part of it. Did you look record recently (both in international cricket and otherwise)? The guy was average in the Ashes. He couldnt buy a run in the IPL and has barely crossed double digits in county cricket.

It was nothing worth being dropped looking at his past record.Was highest run getter for Eng in Ashes down under I think.Also he had the ability to take on the best bowlers whereas current crop is just not on the same level.

Same old, same old 'look at the stats' argument.. I dont need to look at cricinfo's series stats page to see how well or badly KP did in the Ashes. Sure, he was their leading run scorer on paper, but that was only because every other batsmen around him was terrible.

Cook, at least the least, should be stripped of captaincy and asked to go back to County cricket and score some runs (with the general understanding that it only a matter of 'when' before he comes back). Prior looks truly broken (physically and mentally) and should go. Bell should stay.
