maniac
1) mental midget ? :hmmm: 2) ... Now if I say his debut 100s where kind of back to the wall innings he will be called a wi bashed and a htb. His innings in Nzl in the most difficult conditions is conveniently ignored. He has a 50+ average for a reason. Now I get it if he had been picked in place of pujara or rahane for icf to go all postal here but nothing wrong if he is next in line as a back up batsman. Too much hate here :headshake: Link to comment

It's not about Rohit scoring runs or not, but we required an extra seamer here. Realistically its not possible with Jadeja in the side. Ashwin's inclusion means both Jadeja and Binny had to go to include the 4th seamer. Link to comment

Forget extraordinary ...even a Corey Anderson, hafeez or neesham will do. If that is not the strength than better to go with 6+1+4. Our problem is jaddu is still not a good enough bat at this level....his bowling is good to be the 5th bowler for sure. Can't rely on Ashwin to score consistent runs every time as that will be unfair on him. Link to comment

maniac
^also that was our success formula during our golden run.....sadly the newer part timers be it rohit!vijay or dhawan are not in the league of srt!sehwag or ganguly with the ball so I understand why we think we are a bowler short Yuvraj and Raina are very good part timers but unfortunately they suck at test level. But having a specialist bowler or Ashwin/binny for the matter of fact will not help as that would mean having a long lower middleorder.in overseas conditions it is better to stick to our strength batting. Ashwin is more than a decent bat.him there would have allowed us to play extra seamer. Also with Bhuvi scoring its not that big a risk to go with 5 bowling options As it is,I can't see how we are gonna pick 20 wickets in this Test.at best can draw it. Sachin=GOD
Binny written off after two tests. But different rules for tailunted Nohit Binny has been dropped because he is simply not needed in the side - he is not a good batsman and he is not getting to bowl so there was no point in keeping him. And his replacement could have been Rohit or Ashwin - I think a batsman was needed more than Ashwin so I agree with this decision. Link to comment

I dont want Binny in the side,i just want some consistency in selection.Rohit has been given an unduly long rope in ODI's and i fear the same will happen it tests. Link to comment
