Karn Sharma .... ODI player for india

I am a big fan of leg spin and Karn Sharma along with sheryas gopal are the ones to look-out for....Surprisingly both of them can bat a bit....Karn sharma is more suited for shorter format while Gopal for longer format. Esp in countries like australia leg spin will play a huge role ... hopefully Karn would make a debut before the mega event and seal his place for the world cup. Honestly, i dont see it coming ....

Can they actually turn the ball off the pitch? That's the first requirement as a leg spinner.
LOL ...yes they do .... Can someone analyse the bowling actions and provide insight into that.... most important aspects i reckon should be zip and turn

I know for sure karn Sharma doesn't turn the ball . Not sure about shreyas gopal. But I have heard that he modeled his action after Anil kumble. So, its highly unlikely he turns as well. I'm not sure though. Those who watched him play in Ranjis must have a better insight on this.

the aussie muirhead turns the ball square. We need someone who can actually turn the ball
guys who turn the ball square are exceptions and no muirhead isnt one.

I really , really want a spinner who can turn the ball big on most surfaces. Preferably a wrist spinner. Karanveer is a big turner for sure. Kuldeep Yadav can turn the ball too. I have never seen Karn Sharma turn the ball much.

Karn doesn't have a smooth and classical action, looks muddled and forced. Watching Mishra and him bowl in tandem in the IPL, I've observed that he bowls quicker and doesn't turn the ball much compared to Mishra.

Not good enough for Tests yes

From the younger lot, the only one I know who turns the ball big is Kuldeep Yadav. He was turning it miles in the u19 tournament in the UAE. What's your take on Karanveer's bowling? Haven't seen much of him.

Karanveer is a classical leg spinner. Bowls slow in the air and gets big turn and zip off the deck. Has a decent googly too. Kuldeep was turning the ball a lot too. So was Goni in the u19 games. These 3 spinners have potential and should be groomed.

He turns it big too but from whatever I've seen he lacks both variety and accuracy.Plus hes really short so not much chance of getting bounce

I'd add Chahal too.he impressed me more than Karanveer tbh

Good to see we have young spinners coming into the system. Last decent spinner we produced was 17 years ago. :P
For a country known for its spin culture, we seem to have lost interest in spin bowling. Are there any well known spin academies in our country ? Have we ever had a spin bowling coach for our team ? Most spinners being picked are either darters or need helpful pitches to turn the ball. They do not put in enough revolutions on the ball. "Understanding spin bowling " is not as good among our captains as it used to be, especially when it comes to tests. Hence, rank turners are needed. I would like to see this change. Hopefully, the new bunch will receive more understanding and support.
