Then don't start whining when we don't do well abroad. You guys want the team to play on pitches which don't bounce over knee at home and then you want these players to miraculously win test matches in South Africa and Australia. :facepalm:
Did Sachin/Dravid/Laxman play on greentops at home?Does Steyn takes wickets at slow and low wickets in SA?No,every team uses home advantage We have to prepare such pitches in domestics and organise more A tours to Aus/SA etc.Losing at home wouldn't do jack to their abilities,but would shatter their confidence

How many series did Sachin/Dravid/Laxman win in SA and Aus ? They took some time to get used to foreign conditions too as they had to learn while playing tours and didnt do so well when they started. They even played county cricket which the present bunch don't. If you are expecting something similar from this team, you can expect more losses overseas. If you want to build an all-round good team which does well everywhere, you need to plan for it and have to be prepared to take some tough, drastic measures starting from how you play cricket at home. If you don't have the balls to do that, then be prepared for more mediocrity.

You ignored my other question,do Steyn/Johnson take their wickets on turners at home?Does Anderson get pattas in England to 'prepare' him for subcontinent tours? I'm all for having these measures at domestic level and organising A tours,but conceding home advantage is stupidity.I don't see how you can win overseas when you suck at home

due to security reason in delhi(22 oct match date on 23 diwali ) t20 going to play before odi so reshuffle of tour bcci talking with wicb am planning to see dharamshala match :om:

Why play tests in smaller venues? I still remember the Nagpur test a couple of years back that drew no crowd.... and Dhoni mentioned in the next test in Bangalore that there are only some cities in India where crowd appreciates test cricket.... Totally agree with him on that front IMO, Test cricket should only be played at select venues - Wankhede, Chepauk, Chinnaswamy, Feroz Shah Kotla, Eden Gardens, PCA Mohali.... maybe add Uppal (Hyd) when these are not available... Shouldn't look beyond thesee 6-7 venues

And to add more spice to it, BCCI should have a different flavor to each pitch... Something like Wankhede and Mohali with pace and bounce.... Chepauk and Kotla for spinning tracks.... and Chinnaswamy, Eden Gardens for flat batting tracks.... Wishful thinking!!! :smiley:

Telangana wants a piece of the bcci pie too.... they need to prepare a ranji team by showing how great test cricket is :wink:
