Firstly, I read in an interview that Rahane is not interested in opening in a test match. He is not comfortable. Secondly, Rahane is playing an important role of lending solidity to the lower middle order against quality attacks. It is a very tough thing to do . It is better not to change something that is working so wonderfully. Opening is a different ball game and there is no guarantee that he would succeed.
