This is the flattest track . Compare the score. 6th batsmen make no difference. A 29 runs? freaking 29 runs? He already got a life in this innings. I am pretty sure he won't convert. First considering Rohit sharma as a batsman itself is a fallcy overseas
The Realist Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 What's galling is that eng were down and out before this test, Cook was under severe pressure and the media gunning for his batting and captaincy. Yet Dhoni being Dhoni somehow manages to just pi$$ away all the advantage with awful selections and captaincy. It happens like clockwork in every overseas series. Just cannot keep going on like this. We all know what needs to happen but unfortunately nothing will change.

First considering Rohit sharma as a batsman itself is a fallcy overseas I think we shouldn't have an opener at all - he just made 43 runs in the whole match. :sniffle: We can have one more bowler who will put pressure on England and bundle them out for under 200 runs. :yay:

It is what it is. Onus is on the batsmen to score runs. IF they don't score.. don't add one more. Because if our bowlers don't take wickets we don't add one more bowler. They have to score. No other choice. If not replace him with another batsman. Don't keep him and add one more. That is brain fart.

By your logic I would just go with Rahane & Vijay , bat BK at 4 cos the others havent contributed much in the series .

Like I said in the other thread , the current batting linup is capable of posting 300 on a very green pitch , but they will struggle to get past 400 on flattest of pitches in the world cos our batsmen when set dont convert them into big hundreds or two hundred . We will be batted out on flat pitches .

Jaddu, bhuvan, Dhoni are equivalent to one genuine batsman. Basically you have just two rank tailenders. Shami and Pankaj. Even Shami made 50. Why do you need so many batsmen. Who is going to take 20 wickets? Are they Mitchell Johnson, Dale Steyn. Even they can't take that many wickets on a flat wickets.

Where do you get 20 wickets? Explain to me if two bowlers don't get wickets you add another bowler? If someone who are rated world class don't score without support how do you expect someone who is not world class to pick wickets without support.

It made sense when he had genuine 5th bowling option like Sehwag, Sachin, Ganguly were there. Also Anil Kumble >>> Jadeja.. This is a very very raw bowling line up. This batting is world class. They should back themselves to score runs. Whatever the runs top order failed to score was provided by tail. Bhuvaneswar helped them 4 times in a row. Jaddu and Dhoni can chip in. So you have no reason to pack the side with 6 batsmen. BEcause even if you pack the side with 11 batsmen , if the opposition can rack up 600 runs they can hurt you with scoreboard pressure which is what happening.

Add to that we drop catches left and right

Jadeja and DHoni together are a batsman. Bhuvan can bat.. So you have 9 batsmen who can score runs on a flat pitch.

When your top 3 batsman out of 5 are not performing, and you cant drop them the only logical thing will be to go with 6 batsmen on a flat track. Do you think we would have done any better if we had 5 bowlers in this test.

Both these captains were severely criticized for not winning tests for a long time.I think it is some gupchup arrangement.You win one we win once...rest draw karenge....:secret:

Let me come up with the theory from Rohit fans.. Ashwin should never play abroad because he failed in Jo burg. But Rohit can play anywhere everywhere despite him failing at the same Jo burg lol because he is taulented but not the guy who picked fastest to get 100 wicket in addition to an avge of 40 with the bat.
