This line alone exposes your pathetic thinking. No, women are not fools. Cases of men being fooled for various reasons will be much more. Such cases of women being duped are very, very less. Secondly, most cases when women do marry they are ok with the implications and take their own decisions The very fact that your kind of thinking, where you somehow think you own women in your family, you have a duty to impose your will on them, control them, let them know what's happening (because they are fools who cannot read the news, etc) shows your thinking is not much different from the hardliners on the other side. You might not make them wear burkhas but somehow it is your duty to see how they live their own life

There are lots of things sisters should be protected from. In fact I would think focusing on things like love jihads will take attention away from more serious problems which are statistically more possible to happen to a woman. A woman in India is statistically much more likely to be raped or killed for dowry than be a victim of love jihad.

That's ones own personal matter... People have to be aware of all problems, instead of doing statistical analysis.. When ones near and dear ones goes out, you tell them of all possibilities instead of telling them to worry more on certain problems and be less worried on some other problems.. One thing is good now that the awareness has increased and the criminals will not have free run because of less awareness about sexual grooming related issues...

It is impossible for a person to be aware of all matters. So if there is something which is a thousand times more dangerous and more likely to happen, of course you will want to be vigilant of that instead of wasting times in something which will happen to you much lesser than the chances of winning the lottery. You might as well tell them to beware of lightning when going out in the rain

As I said, it's personal prerogative... You might wish to leave everything for your Sis to decide, that's your prerogative... No matter how much you try to say what's 'waste of time' etc. those who are concerned will do what's best for their family as it's their personal choice... You can't force them to follow your way of thinking...

In one of the programs i saw, they were saying girls in UP are being pulled out of schools to prevent love jihad. That's a heavy price to pay so this better be true, but personally to me it seems like a bjp ploy to get votes in the next election. Ask for proof of planned conspiracy or some pattern, and you are pointed towards forced prostitution cases in Britain, isis, or some random cases in india which could as easily have been about hindu perpetrators.

Sexual grooming is an issue in the UK, not in India. It is very different from the love jihad cases we are discussing here. Can you provide examples of why I should be worried? How many cases are there in India? Every once is a while we have such panics about different things spreading in the country which get people worried. So I think dispelling myths should also be important

The first link describes a criminal act from 2010. 2010 was during bjp's term in karnataka. Because of such criminal cases appearing in the media and bjp creating a ruckus, didn't the police in karnataka investigate the phenomenon of love jihad and find that these were just individual criminal acts and there was no larger conspiracy or pattern behind it? Similar investigations happened in kerala and the kerala cops came to the same conclusion. The second link talks about a couple of cases where one woman ran away with some muslim guy and the second voluntarily converted to islam. It then gives some conversion numbers but doesn't say anything about love jihad or of post marriage conversion. Is all post marriage conversion or any conversion that has nothing to do with marriage, love jihad now? So what happened to the conspiracy hatched by muslims in madrasas with help from abroad to buy women attracting stuff like bikes, cells and glasses, use this to woo and marry just to convert them, make muslim kids and dump the women? I thought the conspiracy stuff was love jihad and not just any conversion after marriage. If bjp wants to expand its definition then it should say so clearly.

I believe this love jihad thingy is a ploy to get votes which works by exploiting the anxiety in hindu society about larger numbers converting to islam. If this anxiety is real, then there are better ways to go about solving this problem. Fix the problems like caste discrimination and gender inequality in hindu society. Many of the folk who have converted to other religions might come back and fewer will convert in the future. But since this will not get votes, nobody does anything about it.

ehh? I'm talking about controlling what she can control in her life and be careful about such evil in our society. How can making her aware of love jihad can take away the focus from rape or dowry ? :confused:
