Doosra is more effective because it spins more and is quicker for which the bowler has to chuck it.If they try to bowl a slower doosra with less spin it would be like a carrom ball. Saqlain bowled the doosra legally.But most of his doosras would pitch and hold its line or go just a bit away.Ofcourse sometimes his doosras did spin more but they were few.Also his doosras were more flighted and were slower.Ajmals doosras go like a leg spin and also are flatter and faster for this he chucks the ball.He is a blatant chucker 35 degree throws.Lol.In that other thread someone put an article from daily mail where by his photographs and video they had found he was chucking by 35 degrees in 2012.

Atleast they produce spinners who bowl spin not chuck.

Yeah. Doosras (the modern day ones) spin more due to dodgy actions. But more than the spin, the fact that doosras can be disguised far better than carrom balls, makes them very lethal. These days everyone knows when Ashwin is about to bowl a carrom ball. Its hard to disguise it.

Herath used to bowl it in a very different way.He used to squeeze it between his index and middle finger with the thumb pushing it from behind.He still bowls it. I couldnt find his video but i found another bowler using similar technique If Lyon bowls this in the UAE,Pakistan will have problems.

All carrom balls come out of the front of the hand.And no it isnt easy to pick up from the hand.If what dada said was right the Indian bastmen failed to pick it up from the hand.Later on they picked it by watching the rotation of the seam.If carron ball is bowled with a scrambled seam ot will be more difficult to pick it.

I was talking about the ball Lyon bowled - that is easy to pick if you watch the hand. It is not really a carrom ball.
