express bowling Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Why are Jadeja and Ashwin automatic selections in every format ? These two are mediocre spinners and there are other mediocre spinners like Mishra and Chawla, who are not clearly worse than these two.
Marco Polo Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 He was kkr's best bowler in last Ipl and I heard wasim akram praising him even when he wasn't bowling well in initial matches. He got better as the tournament went by after he got the backing from wasim akram. I can promise you that kkr wouldn't drop umesh yadav for this one match and they would yield results for trusting him. All you effing haters can dash my dash...
vvvslaxman Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 What's your point ? You think Umesh is as good as Johnson ? :cantstop: No point is Economy rate is the last thing you should look for in a Test. Genuine quicks can always be more expensive.. You have a bowler whose ER is 3.35 and strike rate is 67 and another one ER of 4.00 and strike rate is 46.. who would you pick?
undisputed chap Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Your post is after an IPL match lol so i can only quote from the match. I am not saying he is ODI material. But he definitely deserves a run in Tests. Pishant after years of sucking kept on getting chances. Bhuvnaeswar was not given a chance in SA and NZ. Give the same set of bowlers to all captains in the world' date=' they will look the worst under Dhoni especially on pattas. It is a fact. Dhoni sucks balls in managing bowlers if there is no spin on the offer. When you can justify 5 test series failures overseas it is not that hard to justify anything. They were A+ canning.. not just simple defeats.[/quote'] I have been saying yadav is crap for weeks now. Secondly how do you justify yadav's 30 average in FC did dhoni go there as well to screw him ? Pls answer. I know what you will say blah blah flat pitches etc etc.
Lord Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Jadeja after playing 32 ODI matches http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/234675.html?class=2;spanmax1=17+Aug+2010;spanval1=span;template=results;type=allround Average of 42.20. His ER was also close to 6 at that point. Yet he got chances after chances after chances. Anyone can be a match winner in some matches if supported for over 5 years. His ER was 4.81,well below 6.plus did well with bat and field anyway he was dropped soon after that and made a comeback after a great Ranji season IIRC. He was highest wicket taker in CT,not just random matches. on Yadav,he should play Tests, but not ODIs.

These two are mediocre spinners and there are other mediocre spinners like Mishra and Chawla, who are not clearly worse than these two. Mishra and Chawla have been tried and have sucked both on wicket taking and ER front. These two keep it tight plus their other skills help them I guess though I agree other spinners like Karan Sharma and Chahal can be tried.

What was Dhoni's batting average in first class when he took over captaincy.
rahulrulezz Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The reason KKR even made it to the finals was Umesh Yadav http://www.espncricinfo.com/ipl-mohali/engine/match/734043.html

Secondly I do blame dhoni for turning marshalls & bradmans into ishant & nohits. I mean howcould he do this. Lets sack his sh!t. Haha

Most unimaginative overseas captain India ever had by a galaxy. Nothing can change. Record speaks. 0-4 0-4 0-1 (Thank god that was 2 test series) 0-2 1-3 This is the achievement of this jackass .
CG Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Some people are dumb enough to not know tests are included in fc records. Of all new indian bowlers from 2000 except sreesanth- yadav has had the best starts and performances in test cricket in his short career overall if you look at home and away.
vvvslaxman Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Umesh Yadav Fc records- Matches -26 wickets-92 average 27.5 5 wicket haul -5 Some people are dumb enough to not know tests are included in fc records. Of all new indian bowlers from 2000 except sreesanth- yadav has had the best starts and performances in test cricket in his short career overall if you look at home and away. Effect of hero worshipping.
JaFanatic Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Mishra and Chawla have been tried and have sucked both on wicket taking and ER front. These two keep it tight plus their other skills help them I guess though I agree other spinners like Karan Sharma and Chahal can be tried.Mishra is a better bowler than chawla and he only had one bad match as far as ODIs are concerned but despite sucking balls on wk taking and er front he has a much better er than our lead spinners and has the best avg among indian bowlers in ODIs.
undisputed chap Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 So now your pathetic attempt to justify Jadeja as a match winner failed so now you are bringing his batting average? Why not try for a player who is a much better bowler instead of sticking with Jadeja at that point? BTW, in those 32 matches he had only 3 50s and no great innings as you seem to be implying. Both his batting and fielding has improved after being given multiple chances And again you are fooling no one with your sudden Dhoni love. And by a remarkable co-incidence, Dhoni is the only Indian player you support and put down everyone else. Even here you are only supporting Jadeja because of Dhoni factor, :winky: My attempt failed ? . So listen what you say in above post is lets bring in a bowler who is good enough to make the team on his bowling alone. So according to most i would say a bowler who is good enough to make the team on his bowling alone > a jadeja who had played 30 matches bowl avg 40 & bat avg 30 > umesh with bowl ag 40+ & bat avg <10. So why do you want umesh in the team again ? MTC you are regressing better to retire now.
Lord Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Mishra is a better bowler than chawla and he only had one bad match as far as ODIs are concerned but despite sucking balls on wk taking and er front he has a much better er than our lead spinners and has the best avg among indian bowlers in ODIs. I was talking about Tests there. in ODIs yes he could be given chances. But then ODIs are all about being two dimensional unless you are great. His fielding and batting are too poor for ODIs

As ODIs are concerned he is good enough for no.8 can score boundaries in the slog overs as you might have seen him in ipl but TBH we dont really need his batting its just a bonus if he can do well and he is no worse than ashwin in fielding
sachin34357 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 hes a test match bowler. shami, aaron, yadav & bhuvi. what a combo
undisputed chap Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 He is the one thinks that Ishant/Rohit are marshall /Bradman.He is the one who selects them :cantstop: . Ok so wait you are saying dhoni goes state to state to select the players. Lol. That's the dumbest thing ever. Ok lets think why didnt we sack dhoni after aus tour kohli was like totally rocking it like settin the test cricket on fiyah yea. Or maybe sachin could have totally captained india yo. Ok but pujara definitaley yeah our next dravid yo. Such a mature cricketer yaa consistent like a boss yo. Bot he failed in england getting bowled on straighter balls totally lost his reflexes now totally moves like an old grandpa yo. Ok maybe rahane yaa. Totally next laxman yo. Lets make him captain yaa. What if he played just 10 tests yo. Totally will be oon next tour yo. Dominating johnson & co now.

I'd rather try a young leggie like Karn now tbh
