This older dude in my office that I share isle space with is trying his level best to convert me to Christianity Yesterday he gave me a big lecture on Jesus and bunch of other things. I respectfully listened for about half hour without saying a word. He stopped talking on his own later. This morning as soon as I walked in he got me a few things to read. I just told him I wasn't interested. How do I deal with this? Its driving me crazy...he sits right next to me and see him all day long ...so irritating

I'm not trying to create a scene here as long as he just stops. My company is extremely strict about this. If I approach HR, he could potentially lose his job. If the situation elevates, I'll have to go that distance too. Lets see This is not the first time. He has lectured me on how his religion is the only way to God and heaven many times before. This time he brought things to read for me. This to me is crossing the line. I just politely told him I wasn't interested. He said "I'm sorry to hear that". Has anyone else ever run into such situation

My dad blasted his driver couple of months back . Apparently he was trying the same with other drivers , Security guys etc in office . He told him to take this conversion business out of office . Few will be quite , some will say no nicely & one guy will probbaly give him a wack . The media will cover this as Christians targetted by Hindus .

Here is the answer I have given to people before who have tried to convert me and worked for me so you can try some variation of that. "I have grown up all my life following a religion which I have never tried to or had the time to understand completely,So before I try to look in to other religions or other paths to god,I would like to try and go back to completely understand my current religion first before I can make any decisions. It will not be fair to judge or disregard the religion i have grown up in all my life without even trying to completely understand it." Hope that helps......not being disrespectful or crude and just giving him ahope that down the line you will listen to him again. If it doesn't work and the guy is persistent than as suggested talk to your manager and than HR.

That's a darn good answer but I don't think this dude deserves a justification. It should be well understood that what he attempted was wrong. Its more painful because I'm extremely insecure with my own faith already

For now a simple "no" will work. What else do you have to offer? Oh and did I mention how He attempted to explain how Islam and Christianity are different despite both being abrahminc religions and how the later is superior. What a knucklehead I never asked for any of this

There you go.. Why would he want to do so? I believe he don't want to hurt him or anything by breaking with an argument about that. One shouldn't disrespect another's religion.
