Biopic on the active cricketer...I think they should wait till he retires atleast....or maybe this is a sing he is retiring soon before it releases... Neeraj Pandey is a good director...made some awesome films before...
Seems to be the trend these days, first mary kom now Dhoni

Seriously' date=' this would be first time when anybody is using his own company to get movie made on himself.[/quote'] What about that 40 crore he demanded?:hmmm:

Yes Milkha SIngh never won a medal but there is a story there.....he made it to the olympics and almost won a medal against all adversity. Mary Kom...won a medal, she is a woman from North-east,now talk about raising against the odds, and won a olympic medal . You are comparing Pele and Maradona and what they have done to Dhoni :cantstop: Also most of these movies have a career defining moment, apart from that 1 innings in the WC final....what is Dhoni's  Now if they show that innings and say it was Dhoni who won the cup,it will be a slap on the face to SRT,Zak,Raina,Gambhir and everyone else who contributed more. As far as coming from a small background goes, yes Kudos to him and he has my respect but he is not the only guy who has done that. Greater cricketers than Dhoni-Kapil,Gavaskar,SRT,Dravid are all from middle class families.
Well I was just pointing out biopics have been made on Pele and Maradona, never compared them to anyone. If you honestly don't know the career defining moments of Dhoni then I guess you have been watching a different sport. All your mentioned cricketers were from big cities, with proper infrastructure. I think he belonged to a lower middle class family, worked as a TTE and lived with 3 or 4 other boys in one room. Coming from Bihar,(It was Bihar when he was growing up) with no proper infrastructure, with such background and atmosphere to achieve what he has. He has struggled more to reach the Indian team than those other greats.

But then Dhoni is not in league of other greats. I think it would be a stretch even to call him a cricketing great. Yeah, you can say probably an IPL great.

Small difference - AFAIK, all these biopics on Pele/Maradona/Mary Kom/Milkha Singh were made by others, not by their own company. This shouldn't even be called a biopic - its just promotion.

Unlike the other Biopics, the actor here will never get close to earning what the real sportsman have earned in his life which was not the case with Priyanka playing Mary Kom or Farhan playing Mila Singh :D

He is an Indian great in test cricket, one of the best WK/batsman for India along with Kirmani and Engineer. One of the best Indian captain ever too.
