The Indian Meteorological Department had issued warnings about Cyclone Hudhud at least three days in advance, but the BCCI decided against moving the game out of Visakhapatnam, a port city where the cyclone made landfall on Sunday. A BCCI source said it would have been logistically difficult to move the match to another venue in two days time.

What's the point of canceling if they don't want to relocate the game ? Wait and see on 14th if weather improves. I read only 12 hours after the cyclone hits the coast (on Sunday afternoon) is when its most severe and later will move up north and reduce in intensity. Cyclone's effect will there till tonight or tomorrow morning at most and then there could be some showers. So there could be a chance of a game if drainage facilities are good at the stadium.

But good to know BCCI isn't much worried about the gate collections and money.

no, pitch preparation isn't an instant thing. Also same logistics issue. And Dharamsala being a small city, finding accomodation etc for such a big contingent will prove difficult if not done well in advance.

Yes that's because its an IPL match, and its an IPL season, where grounds are rented by franchises for months together. Plus these grounds were hosting IPL matches anyways and were already prepared.
