Leander Paes lodges FIR alleging threat from cricketer Atul Sharma

MUMBAI: Tennis player Leander Paes has lodged an FIR with the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) police alleging that an Indian cricketer had threatened him and his eight-year-old daughter with dire consequences. The FIR was registered after cricketer Atul Sharma, whose name is mentioned in the FIR, allegedly threatened Paes in the court premises on October 10. "We have registered a case against Sharma. No arrest has been made so far. Probe is on," said police officer K V Nigade. Nigade said they have charged Sharma under the Indian Penal Code sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (ll) (criminal intimidation). Leander Paes and his estranged partner Rhea Pillai have been fighting for the custody of their eight-year-old daughter.
