This is not the first time a ball boy has "interfered" with the game. I have seen many a times a fielder running towards the boundary having to try to avoid running into an over-exuberant ball boy trying to fetch the ball. Only seen these on the sub-continent and not elsewhere. One of these days, they are not just going to "interfere" with the game, but also will end up "influencing" the result.

In this series only...say that a boy almost got seriously injured when one of the WI fielder tried to stop a ball at the boundry. IMO...its about time that these ball boys instead of having a free day out...stay in their schools/home.

This was not just an error of judgement that it happens?! He stepped inside and picked the ball. India was denied two runs. Imagine if this was a World Cup final, India was batting second and ended up losing by one run.

Secondly, worse crimes are done by umpires who give batsmen who are out not out and vice versa. Take a chill pill. The kid was a bit over exuberant. Its the first time I am seeing something like this. How intolerant world has come to?

There is no need for ball boys in small stadiums of India. Especially in ODIs where fielders are not close in and in 90% of cases are just a jog from retrieving the ball from the boundary. Thirdly the gap between boundary markers and advertisement boards are ridiculously low these days and ball boys literally get don't need to even get up to do their stuff in many cases. Plus it's also extremely harsh on the small kids to be put to burn under the sun for hours at a stretch - someone should file a PIL against that.

I have seen ball boys a thousand times picking up the ball before it reaches the boundary it is really annoying because its pretty cool seeing the ball hit the boundary rope.

In the Delhi game, in the crowd, those bozos were quarreling with the cops for the ball. Ban them too.
