Are Australia any good when they step outside of Aus/SA?

Aus and Eng always pretend they care about test cricket. Its total hogwash. They only care about Ashes otherwise they wouldn't be so pathetic against spin. When their whole cricket is centered around one series and when they treat all other series as less important, how can they pretend they are guardians of cricket ? Its good that Indian cricket finally broke their hegemony and their elitist mindset.

Didn't Australia beat SL in SL recently? Also on side note: India could have also been at no1 rite now if our team played more away test series vs Pakistan, SL, WI. The others get to play Pakistan on docile UAE pitches whilst India don't, and India have hardly played vs SL home or away.

We're hardly going to play any home games now either.

That's the problem, playing likes of Pakistan, SL, and Bangla is practically like home games (I.e. Same conditions, weather, etc) So whilst India only get one shot in their preferred conditions (just in India) someone like Australia get to play in NZ, SA, and Eng, and of course Aus.

Asutralia have taken Pakistan to day 5 in Dubai ... something that neither England nor South Africa did as they both got thumped by Pak first match of each their respective series in the UAE.

Apart from India and England, I do not think Australia has lost an away series recently. They drew in SL, won in WI, won the last time they played in NZ and they always win against SA.

They fail in the territories that matter and which present a foreign challenge - barring SA perhaps, if the pitches there are significantly different to Australia (I don't feel they are).

So it is now consecutive 8th loss in Asia (read : India and Dubaii) for the Aussies, and 4th in a row for Clarke as captain on the field, and 5th as captain generally. But hey, we won't find articles thrashing his playing style or captaincy in crapinfo.

It's fair when they attack msd with his captaincy where allows the game to drift. In Clarke's case his captaincy is good attack always which works well when you good bowlers gives more chances to get opposition wickets dhoni when a wicket falls he seems to relax and allow the new batsmen to score runs. Although I agree Clarke has better bowlers the intent of taking wickets seems to be missing from dhoni.

Where are the results then? this is his 4th consecutive loss as captain in Asia, and none of them have shown him to be attacking sort of a captain. He's gifted with better bowlers but can't use them properly? Did you watch how badly he used Lyon in this match? Was terrible to see him reduced to a darter on middle and leg when he was a different beast altogether in the ODIs under Bailey. The Clarke love, gosh, I'll never understand.

But his style captaincy is ok it is the batsman who didn't play properly. Batsman should be blamed rather than captain alone with dhoni even ashwin was not if you read his statements regarding going for attack. Yes the results are not there they should do an article on that but not on his style of captaincy.i haven't seen it but was Lyon bowling that line in second innings it is understandable considering pak were scoring well during that time and you bowl defensively try not to give more runs.

And you just said Clarke is an attacking captain?

Yes I did but you can't attack when opposition leads over 300 runs for fourth innings. It not attack always it is balance but dhoni never found the balance seems to be Blackfoot even when we are leading.
